Free car sunshades at Kiddicare Peterborough

Is it nationwide and how do you get it

Used to love kiddicare when it was on serpentine but now it's smaller than Mothercare in its new location we don't bother.

Are kiddicare still closing down?

Agree on the Nct. Kiddicare is a shadow of its former self though. What a shame.

NCT is an amazing charity, Did ante natal classes with them. Very good and can recommend them to soon to be parents.

Ickle Bubba Stomp v3 All in One Travel System with Isofix Base (All Colours) £359.10 - KiddiCare

Quality of item is good, warranty if registered with brand extended to 4 years. We had to get brand to replace an item while on warranty and it was rather simple. The retailer we got it from, on the other hand, completely useless. Brand is nice with after sales support so much that we are getting more stuff from the same brand.

Hi, The issue here is when you have the car seat attached and want to remove it. When you remove the car seat does it behave the same way as the carry cot? On mine to remove the carry cot, you press it and it clicks and kind of jumps up. I do both and comes off very easily. On the car seat it behaves differently. I have to press both and lift it up at the same time, but it doesn't click and it doesn't stay in that position if you let it go, making it very difficult to keep the seat steady. Youtubers claim that the system is the same and it should click on both but ICKLE support says otherwise.

I did get this and when we put carry cot on it was stiff to begin with until I figured out the simple click mechanism and same with the car seat. But they do come off very easily now. It's a shame if people are having issues 🙃

I am sending it back if there is no solution. My wife can’t get it off and I struggle even using all my strength.

Did you buy this ? I received mine and have the same problem, contacted iCKLe and got this reply : “ The release buttons on the car seat do act differently to those on the carrycot frame. We do appreciate that they both look exactly the same, however they are different. To remove the car seat from the chassis, you do need to press the buttons away from you and lift one side up a little at a time. As your travel system is new, all the plastic will be stiff, but after a few uses you will find it much easier to remove the car seat. The adapters are standard among car seats, and we can confirm that a few other manufactures such as Maxi Cosi and Cybex to name just a couple also use the same adapters as ourselves.

Doesn't look very compact when collapsed.

Had a similar travel system pram from Kiddicare for my son who is nearly 14 now! Loved it! Have never been able to understand those mums who wanna waste hundreds and hundreds of £ on a pram! Even worse when it's £500 etc and doesn't even include a car seat! I didn't drive at the time either, so needed be able get on and off busses etc too that didn't have easy access or pram access/space back in those days either. And in and out of taxis, so having the baby car seat helped there. And I managed to cram tons of shopping into the basket underneath from the supermarket, and using clips on the handle, having bags hanging there too.

Marvel Spiderman Beline SP Group 1-2-3 Car Seat £36.99 from kiddicare
Found 9th Aug 2017Found 9th Aug 2017
The Marvel Spiderman Beline SP is a stylish and comfortable Group 123 high back booster which is suitable for children between 9-36kg (approx. 9 months to 11 years). It has a heigh… Read more

The tests are actually not very good at all. The test only measures the movement of the child and not the forces transferred to the child's neck and spine. Even at low speeds in a forward facing seat these forces are huge, and enough to cause horrific injuries. Anyone buying one of these seats (or the equivalent with Mickey Mouse etc on them) needs there head tested. Yes the child might think it's fun but safety should always be the priority. If you want to keep you child safe look for a rear facing seat that has passed the swedish plus test. Maybe they could bring out a range of Marvel/Disney wheelchairs for children left paralysed as a result of moronic parents buying seats like this.

^^^ exactly this, plus the lack of side impact testing so ensure you have a word with whoever is going to drive into you and request they don't do it from the side! Read any reviews and they're probably all fantastic with "my kid loves the design" and "it's easy to move between cars" style comments but do a bit more research and buy a hbb that has been tested to more than the minimum standards. Also these seats do not offer anywhere near adequate protection for 9 months old babies as advertised.

Under Regulations ECE R44 03 & 04, seats must, amongst other requirements, undergo frontal collision testing at a speed of 50km/h (31mph) and rear impact collision testing at 30km/h. In Supplement 16 of R44 04 (18.6mph) the seat is also subjected to a rollover test. All these tests are undertaken with dummies that represent the weight category of the child approved for the correct weight group of seat. Results of these tests must fall within the requirements of the Regulation. These seats just pass this test, so if you are going to drive at these speeds all of the time, I reckon you will be OK. If you've ever taken the foam sponge fabric cover off of these to seat what little construction there is to these generic moulded seats you will see how low the protection actually is.

Absolutely spot on had no issues and my son loves it

When their own advertising wording starts with "stylish and comfortable" with no mention of safety you know what you're getting straight away....

You could call people names and remain ignorant, or you could say "thanks for the advice, people who've thought about this".

Wow, safety police are out in force on this post (lol) (lol)

My 5 year old is in a rear facing seat, she never questions it being rear facing despite having an older brother and sister who forward face and a whole class full of peers at school who are either on a high backed booster or a backless one (there are a good number who have a backless booster unfortunately)

Google Joel's Journey - 18 month old child in a regular forward facing harnessed seat, in a collision at 35mph his neck was broken

agreed a toddler doesn't like a lot of things! Broken biscuits, naps but when it comes to safety you wouldn't let them play on the road just because they wouldn't like it if you stayed firm about it not being safe why would you approach a car seat any differently? I totally understand that as they get older the infant carrier doesn't suit them but it's the seat not that it is rear facing. Infant carriers are very enclosed, restrict their view and are too low down to satisfy a growing babies curiosity. They get bored and annoyed. I would recommend anyone who thinks upgrading to forward facing will solve these issues to buy a seat that can be fitted both forward and rear facing and try it rear facing first. They are much more comfortable in the bigger seat, can see out the rear window and if fitted behind the passenger seat they can see the driver as the sides are lower. You might be surprised. :)

it's nania which hasn't got the best reputation in the world so guessing that's why the cold votes. spend a bit more and get a seat from a reputable brand that do extra safety testing (minimum requirements are just 30mph forward impact and 18mph rear impact plus no side impact testing) - as an example britax first class plus - although double the price (halfords plus B17CS03 code), definitely worth the extra pennies.

Why cold? I was thinking of buying this as a spare car seat for holidays and days with grand parents without isofox. Is it not much good? Thanks

This. How would you ever forgive yourself if the worst happened and there was even the remotest possibility that a better, safer seat could have saved their life?

totally agree. some people told me that I'm stupid to pay that amount for a car seat, but I never save money on my children's safety...

i paid £360 for it 2 years ago. one of the best car seats!

It's still advertising online as £34.99 as little as minutes ago. Makes no sense as a price error as it clearly said 90% price reduction. Completely false advertisement!!

Isofix reduces chance of human error but a belted rear facing seat is safest,

Isofix is only worth while before they use a high back booster. Once they're onto that the seatbelt does 100% of the work and the Isofix is just there.

We had a y reg civic which did have isofix. If I remember correctly it didn't call it isofix in the manual though.

I have one of these strollers, they are excellent value. My 4yr old can still comfortably use it on a long day out. Really sturdy yet incredibly lightweight

Depends on your toddlers personality, these don't sit fully upright so some toddlers are not content with that. Wheels on the Maclaren XT are bigger making it easier to push a heavy toddler but also then takes up more space in the boot when folded. The XT is suitable from birth if you ever wished to reuse it. The g-luxe is probably lighter in weight though.

I am toying with the idea of getting this one. It seems like a close contender to the Maclaren XT.
