I'd say to just check your cupboards or storage for an old compact digital camera and hand it to your kids. My daughter of less than 2.5 years of age was able to press the shutter and get some snaps. At 4, I am sure they can manage the Auto mode of a compact camera. Buy one on ebay for 10 or 15 if you must

Cheers mate. Was literally looking at this on Amazon for my niece

I think we might not always see the world from a kid’s perspective, pretty sure my 5 year old doesn’t care too much about megapixels

These are so much fun. Lots of fun options for selfies and you twist the lens for quick effects. There are a handful of very basic mini games on there, but you can disable these in the settings. Ours got lots of use.

    Thanks for this.

It looks to be a well reviewed camera for pre-schoolers with a higher pixel count compared to earlier models:

Thanks OP, my son wanted this and combined with the £7 Amazon voucher who have price matched, then it comes to £29 (edited)

Thank you for sharing that! I’m hoping my 4 year old will enjoy it! Great price with the Amazon voucher too!

Bought this for £38.23 off Amazon on black Friday. Don't know if it is worth the hassle of returning and buying this using discounted gift cards. Would come up to about £33.50

Good fun for kids and easy to learn. Picture quality awful though!

These are really poor. The camera is awful . Waste of money

It's not about the megapixels. It's a kids toy that just happens to actually take photos

Yes poor pictures but that's not the point my kids had a great time with these and tried (and failed) to break them all the time!

these are very poor - very much a novelty item - if kid is younger then it might get played with for about 10 -20 hours total during its life.

poor games, poor storage and poor pictures - its a very clever tool from maker to have a user poor item sold more many more times the price due to packaging.

purchases for kids a while back and they both played with about 3-4 hours during the 2 years - now it just a item that I don't want to throw out ( due to the high cost ) but helped me learn that lesson. kids want quality items and a real camera for much less will be like night and day compared to this. save your pennies for another toy.

£36 is hardly a high cost for an actually well made, well thought out toy-come-camera.

According to reviews, the pixel count of this current version is much higher than earlier models.

agree with many comments above - these are awful for the price - you likely have an old unused digital camera or even an old phone. my son used to try pinching our phones to take photos from the age of 3 - not that we want our kids using smartphones!

he loves this camera but the photos are truly awful and just unusable which is sad - wont have any funny memories from this

there are better options for less money - likely chinese items from amazon/ali express etc etc.

i wish i saw these comments 2/3 years ago! as i have a spare old camera! and even a 'fake' dslr type thing that also never used, may as well let my boy use that!!!

my niece and nephew have these:

i have not used them myself so cant comment on ease of use but the images are far better - check the reviews, seems good (edited)

Looked at these but 4x batteries put us off. Got a very similar camera but UB rechargeable and grandaughter (4) loves it. Came from Smyths this year (own brand I think) and price was similar to this.

    UPDATE:
This is it and it's ony £29.99. Comes in other design themes too:

I bought this when my kid was bairn... they haven't evolved the tech inside it... Still a meh cam

Still I bet any young kid would love this. It does videos and photos.

This thing eats batteries! 4 energiser ultimate lithium batteries last about 5-6 hours - good luck trying to get rechargeable batteries to work in it!!

    Why wouldn't rechargeable batteries work?

I’d keep an eye out for a deal on this version - this had built in Rechargeable battery and bought one off Amazon last week for £38 - amzn.eu/d/f…1BD
