Went into my local tescos today and they had boys and girls bikes 16inch for £17.99 and boys 20inch bikes for £19.99 down from about £80, just bought my son a bike for £100 and this one was just as good.

I would imagine this is in store only but there was quite a few in my local store.

price changed to £17.50

aycliffe, near darlington, tried the website but couldnt see anything, its a big store so maybe they carry more stock?

i will try in the bigger store close to me then thanks

I'll take another look - there were a couple in Doncaster half-price yesterday at £34 or so, so maybe they've been reduced further. Fingers crossed!

they had a few price stickers on them, was....then..... now...., so £17.50 would be somewhere near half of that.

Thanks Rockerfella20, just been out to my local tesco and got a girl's 16" at £17.50. There were a few 16" bikes still left in Long Eaton (2 boys and 1 more girls, I think). The sticker said £70 marked down to £35 and then to £17.50.

Having just finished assembling it (it took a little while to attach handlebars, seat, pedals, front wheel, brake cables and adjust everything), it seems pretty OK. I'd say £70 was well over the odds (and I doubt it was offered at this price for long), but it's certainly a steal for £17.50.

My 5yr old daughter was made up with it.

good stuff, im glad it was of some use to someone, only gutted that i bought a bike just before christmas, couldnt find a decent one for under £99 so had to go with that. The 20inch looked quite good, should have bought it as a spare for that price!!!!!! cheers.

Cheers, heading to my Tesco tomorrow.

Heat added :-D

heat added. although got no money left to buy one

tesco extra in north shields had these i bought 2 to put away for birthdays at £12.50 and £20 each:thumbsup:

Evenin' All (no I'm not a copper!)

Toton Tescos (Nottingham) has a few left at low prices. Just got the 16" Girls (Fairy Princess, or something) and matching helmet for £17.50 and £10 respectively, which when the VAT reduction was applied came to less than £27 for bike and helmet.

Very happy and I'm sure that the little 'un it's for will be equally chuffed in the morning.

A very good deal.

Sandk.

have fun! let me know what she thinks of it!

tesco bikes are realy cheap look and not a good quality bcz i bought 4 my daughter 6 months ago and its scrap realy. better 2 spend 80 pounds in decathlon.

My little boy got a bike from Tesco's. It was one of those transformers bikes. It took me ages to build the thing & when I went to tighten up the brake caliper, the bolt sheared & the caliper fell to pieces. I will now stick to Halfords for the kids bikes.

Heat added for the bargain price though.

I bought a £100 bike from halfords, the seat nut wont tighten so it flops about as soon as you put any pressure on it (sit on it) and the steering nut is the same, im forever straightening the wheel so its inline with the handlebars, paying top end doesnt guarentee quality either.:?

wow, I bet these bikes are amazingly good quality. I bought my car for 67.50 and it hasn't broken down once. Come to think of it that was tesco too!
