Wetherspoons in my area is usually packed with deadbeats and yobs and most disgusting of all, alcoholic women, from from morning till night.

I would not take my kids in here in a million years. Wetherspoons is a spit and sawdust joint, with the slight polished t urd effect.

The food is awful too. I have lunch here a couple of times a week, and each time I regret it.

Fixed menu's and fixed suppliers. I imagine the food is just as disgusting in your local branch as it is in mine. It's just a question of taste.

Are you sure you aren't confusing it with your local brothel?

Erm, no, actually; I'm pretty sure where I ate lunch today....
Thanks for posting - an affordable family lunch out can make a nice change.

If you worked in Rochdale you would realise the choice is limited to the following.

a) filthy greasy spoons whose bacon is so salty 4 cans of coke are required after a bacon buttie.
b) Greggs, with the pramfaces.
c) Risk food poisoning from gabbots farm
d) Hampsons. More disgusting than greggs.
e) Yate's. Best of the bunch, but expensive
f) A chippy run by a **** serving some disgusting, cheap, far eastern fresh water fish as cod.
g) Wetherspoons.
h) Staff canteen. Staffed by a(removed), which no-one uses. Ever.

Pramfaces?
Hw old do the kids have to be????
We like Spoonies and our local ones are nice and clean. I agree that they attract the budget drinker, but we always sit in the family dining bit so it's not a problem. I think the food is actually ok and certainly good value. I like the Chicken Caesar salad and the burgers, the kids like the spag bol. The coffee is Lavazza IIRC which is very nice. The breakfast roll deal is good value too, but then you really are having to join those who enjoy an early cider.

I have been to loads of other pubs and restaurants and paid a lot more than at Wetherspoons and often found the food to be worse.

No requirements. Plenty of dirty, smelly, stained pushchairs to be seen in the Rochdale branch, whilst the young mums drink pints of cider with the alcohol allowance given too them from evergiving DWP

McDonalds has closed and they have nowhere else to go.

I'm planning on the later next year. Got to be careful though. Public sector, easy, well paid jobs are hard to find

The two in Dartford are pretty good and I've been to both several times with my daughter but we prefer Bluewater these days. The only prob with the Paper Moon is it can get a bit chilly on a cold day but otherwise fine.

It has the odd "colourful" charcter but no pramfaces or alcoholic women (unless my mum is in...)

Good deal btw
I've travelled around a bit and visited quite a few Wetherspoons pubs. Most have been perfectly reasonable pubs. In fact my local a few years back was a Wetherspoons, great place, mixed clientèle, no riff-raff and good prices. Depends where you live I suppose. Anyway, you can choose from hundreds, they're not all bad jdwetherspoon.co.uk/hom…ubs
Petersfield spoons is pretty good, although a few colourful chavs frequent thus establishment now and then......

Very true it does depend where you live, if your neighbours are the scum that some people refer to then you will probably see them in pubs nearby, get a life if you dont like it stay away!!
Wow, lots of spoon bashing going on. I have to agree, your spoons probably reflect the area you are living in! To be honest, my local one does a good breakfast which is not soaked in fat and is all freshly cooked. I dont go there at other times, but its not bad ! The breakfast there is better then the local greasy spoon...... serving bacteria on toast. GOOD FIND OP - HEAT !
Is this location specific ? And only Sundays ?? For the roast or any meal also do we need a voucher xx
