Beware, I ordered one of the other Tesco bikes that were posted on here and I was supposed to pick it up after 3pm today. I tracked it this morning and it was with a courier in Glasgow. Just received a text message and email from Tesco saying it was delivered to the wrong store and was being refunded and its now conveniently out of stock online, don't think they had enough stock for all the orders placed.

Yeh. Not so bad for kids. I mean boys. Boys bike.
You know, single speed, no suspension etc. Simple bike.

Not sure of the relevance- same product range yes, but different products, surely?

I just wanted to make people aware as according to the tesco customer service advisor I spoke to on the phone they are having issues with the website allowing too many orders to be placed, so if this gets popular the same thing could happen. At least then if people get their order cancelled its not as much of a shock as being told right before you're meant to pick it up. Hopefully it doesn't happen but best to be aware, as when I ordered the other bike I really needed it today as my own gave up at the start of the week.

Do yourself a favour....stop buying bikes that 'give up'.

Scott Scale, 24 speed, v.nice looking bike, £140 (probs £110 after negotiation)

Carrera Subway, 21 speed, excellent frame, pretty good components, £100 - (probs £70 after negotiation)

Tesco shouldn't be allowed to sell these junk bikes. They do a great disservice to cycling, and are often times quite dangerous!!

The bikes that you have put links for wenttoabetterplace are adult bikes and not a child's bike as posted here!

Voted Hot, I've ordered one for my 7 year old yesterday and it has already been despatched. :-)

In my defence though, the thread title is confusing (18" normally refers to the size of the frame...which would have made it an adult bike).
Also, comment #4, whom I was replying to, said they needed the bike delivered because their own one gave up at the start of the week. Unless that other person is a child, my comment likely still has relevance

In fact, when you can buy quality bikes so cheaply on Gumtree, I see no reason to buy such stuff from Tesco. Their bikes are - almost without exception - terrible!
