Kilner 8-piece Sloe Gin Making Kit £10 instore only - not necessarily all stores
It's the end of the season clearout in preparation for Christmas and some Sainsburys (stores only) are selling off their Kilner 8-piece Sloe Gin Making Kits for ten pounds.
I was thinking of getting one of these earlier in the year but glad I held on. Sainsbury's Potters Bar definitely has stock as I bought one from there today.
They're also selling off the preserve making five piece kit for £9.

My personal favourite is raspberry gin to be honest Alinshearah
20 years eh? Now that really is sloe.
i've had 30 year old sloe gin, only gets better with age (if stored properly!)
With reference to 20 year old sloe I suspect it will be nicely matured but I assume you have removed the sloes ages ago. If not then it could be poisonous as the stones produce hydrogen cyanide, i think, usually maximum time the sloes should be left in the alcohol I think is about 6 months.
Thanks all. for the 20 year sloe gin advice. The Sloes are still in the Gin, so going by Midjet76, I might be pushing my luck. Shame.
So it's a bag of sugar, four bottles and a kilner jar
Might as well offer a trowel, get someone to supply their own brick and mortar and call it a do it yourself house!
Send it to me - I'll chance it
To be honest (and no I'm not a toxicologist) have you ever heard of anyone dying from cyanide poisoning after drinking sloe gin? It's not like you are going to down it in pints, and if it was strongly laced with cyanide wouldn't the overly strong bitter almond taste be a bit of a give-away?
Just found this thread, how did you get on, did you drink it?
