smart little cradle for the ipad killer....................

Its easy enough to charge as is. A waste of money.

+1

Have to agree..

mains dock would be ok - but not one you need to stick into usb!

Consider I need to charge mine once a month I can't really see the need for a dock.

Can't really see the point with how little it needs charged.

indeed, don't think I have every recharged mine yet, and having a docking station wasting space for the couple times a year occasion seems pointless. My Iphone on the other hand...

Could arguably be useful for transferral of files, but with Calibre transferring my files over WiFi I have no need for this . . .

Pointless as it needs charging so infrequently.

What? They are compeltley different devices for different uses.

What you said is like saying the fridge was the microwave killer.

And the kindle has been out for years (before the ipad IIRC?) so even if they were both for the same thing what you said wouldn't make sense.

Waste of time - Had my kindle for xmas and only had to charge it twice.

A full charge takes less than an hour and last blooming weeks!

I have to agree that it doesn't need charging often enough to warrant spending money on it as a charger. If you like the idea of having a dock as somewhere to keep it safe, then I suppose it is a good idea.

Completely agree with comments above - I need to recharge mine every 6 weeks or so and it takes around an hour to charge - why would I waste £8 on a docking station which will only clutter up my desk further?

That's probably why this is so cheap - because no-one who owns a Kindle sees the need for it.

If anyone spots a price cut on the official Amazon cover with the built in light however...

Dd you know Amazon sells the leather covers reconditioned in the US? But they won't take orders from the UK?

I only charge mine once a fortnight (think I must read too much!!!). Enough crap on my desk without more plastic bits! Sorry thumbs down for this one.

Don't feed the troll!

And yeah, given how often these need charged, this seems a little like overkill to me ....

Sense of humour bypass

great idea

I'm with everyone else here. I read an awful lot and my kindle gets charged every 2-3 weeks. Not much point in having a dock to use this infrequently. I'm not saying it's not a hot deal. But the product itself seems pointless to me.

Not only does mine require charging every 2-3 weeks, I would have to remove it from the leather case to enable it to fit the dock.

A fair idea initially, but the more I think about it, the worse it seems.

I think these have been this price for a while. I do actually own one and it works well, though my computer won't boot if it is pulled in.
The reason I got one was not so much for the charging but to act as a cradle / stand to make it easier to use when writing essays and so I can refer to my academic books on the Kindle.

You need to go into Calibre's settings and set it up to email your kindle email address from your own email address eg gmail. You also need to make sure in Amazon's manage my kindle bit that your email address is allowed on that kindle.
