Agreed, but the warranty is with Amazon. You can usually contact them if you've any issues.

Think it's the same price at Argos, John Lewis, Tesco and Amazon anyway.

Are these much faster at page turning and store browsing than the 2013 Paperwhite model? Performance is the only reason I could see to upgrade?

I have a Paperwhite, I think similar to yours. I wouldn't look to upgrade to this, even if it is faster, it's probably marginal.
I think thats about

I think that's about how old my paperwhite is.
Quite like the look of the new Kindle Oasis, (which is lighter, waterproof and adjustable colour temperature for the lighting, as well as a screen which is not recessed into the bezel.).
But even with £50 off at Black Friday it was still a bit expensive for me to consider.

I'll wait until either the Oasis drops further in price, or my old paperwhite finally gives up the ghost.
The newer standard paperwhites aren't enough of an upgrade for me yet (if they add adjustable colour temperature I may bite)
Amazon and argos also have them dropped to £49.99

Asking the real questions.

Amazon price is £10 more for the one without adverts. Not sure about the Curry's ones and the Argos ones. Could anyone shed any light please?

I believe it's the same as what Amazon are selling. So if Amazon is £50 with adverts, then these also includes adverts.

I say "adverts" but it's just a screensaver when the device is on standby. You can still turn the device fully off and have a blank screen. If you remove the adverts, it's just a photographic screensaver instead, and again you can turn the device fully off and have a blank screen.

Amazon have been known to remove the adverts free of charge if you get onto webchat.

p.s. @MadeDixonsCry - You're username is fantastic

For anyone asking about Adverts - a quick call or online chat to Amazon will get this removed for free. You just have to ask.

I'd love to know how you managed it. I keep getting told I have to wait 14 days.

Several emails. Was ridiculous, they claimed at first couldn't send me it as I hadn't given them my personal details when I purchased the item. I had to tell them to go away and actually read they terms for the offer as it could be on the receipt if purchased in store. 2 days later I received an email from Currys Promotions with the code.
