Ps if you know someone who works for TFL they can get 10% off for you. I did this today, very simple text message via the MyTFL site, just present text at the counter.

Sure other big companies do similar discounts (I think NHS get 7% ? For example)

Only 8gb and no sd card slot.
Like the nexus 7? (i own the nexus 7 ) well worth a punt for the price although you can grab the 16gb nexus 7 for 150 now. Or just pay 3 quid for a usb otg cable and expand thr memory usong an app to store apps on the external storage sich as app2sd. Memory isnt a limitation anymore.
Is this device android based ??

Over 700 Companies who use asperity.co.uk/cli…ts/ to supply their reward schemes.

I get mine from McDonalds. You can also use any name/card details on the checkout, so you only have to know someone who works for one of the companies to login for you.
Kindle Fire HD also available at Comet with "2 Year Guarantee included" for £159. Higher screen resolution, starts from 16Gb, longer battery life and more multi-touch points...

with the 32gb model being released soon the 16gb will maybe priced at £159 so maybe £150 from retailers with codes etc. have to wait and see.

Because we all like to carry a tablet around with us, plug a cable in and then a flash drive into that, it's oh so convenient
Comet uses yodel so be aware that your item may never arrive. Rubbish courier.
Have Comet suddenly improved their customer service? Otherwise, I'd happily pay Amazon £10 more.

Maybe s/he was talking about satnav?

In europe they get 2 years on everything, but we opted out of that. We have the Sales of goods act which says a product should last a reasonable of time. Which can be as much as 6/7 years if it a quality product. It would be difficuit to argue a £4.99 kettle should last that long, but a £50 one should etc.

I would say a reasonable amount of time for a tablet like this is about probably about 3 years, if fault was not by damage etc.

Im a bit sceptical of amazon kindle products after mine broke and watching the watchdog report - i know the fire is different but they dont have a good rep for quality at the min, would like to see how it performs over a good period of time

... not as bad as you make out; takes 2 or 3 mins to load a movie from memory stick to the onboard storage, disconnect cable, watch film, delete and repeat... watched 3 films each way on recent long-haul flights... battery had about 20% left in it after each leg.

Although I have just had a battle with Amazon for a just under 2 year old 42" panasonic TV, they reckon they're not liable under the EU directive or the Sale of Goods Act but did begrudgingly give me £150 worth of Amazon vouchers eventually!
Sorry, but where does it say the Comet version comes without special offers? As I understand, this is RRP - the fact that Amazon have a £139 model just indicates the extra payment that can be made to remove the ads.

As for the warranty, it's pretty meaningless. I'd rather have Amazon's customer service than Comet's.
Can you buy the offers version and then pay the £10 or whatever fee it is to remove the offers?
StevenA2000_uk: you can in the US ($15), presumably the same here but would need confirmation from someone who's actually bought one.
Cooool;)
John Lewis have the 8GB for £129 and comes with 2 year warranty, I know who I would prefer from a CS point of view
