Bargain price for a good little tablet - that I have running the Developers preview of Lollipop - so will soon be updated to a much simpler (more vanilla) GUI. Only in bright yellow for this price - but it is more a limey green than canary yellow. You won't lose it in this colour. I have bought several of these for work purposes and they are a solid little device - perfect for kids (you can sideload any apk/apps if they are not on the terrible Amazon app store!). It is only £57.99!! (Plus £3.95 Home Delivery) Plus get a £5 voucher included....

Good price but need to add in the £3.95 delivery cost as this is home delivery only.

Other colours inc pink one with free delivery £64.99 when you factor in the gift voucher. Cheap for a branded tablet.

"1.07mm thin" wow

Since you say you have lollipop running do you have a decent guide? Or do you mean amazon's interface is becoming a simpler cleaner GUI as standard?

You can sign up for a developer account for free (Google it). You sign in with your Amazon account and then you request to test your apps on fire OS 5. They send you an email once you link your fire tablet and you get promoted to do a software update.

It is official - so really easy to do. It turns off the silly carousel and is much more like vanilla Android (albeit with a Fire flavoured skin).

They can't be very far away from making it a public release, perhaps with some tweaks.

Forgot to mention that this also gets rid of the adverts on the lock screen (for now at least).

I've just ordered 2 16gb versions one in Cobalt Blue and the other in Citron (Yellow) from John Lewis for £99.00 and they will price match it at £89 meaning I get £10 off each device.

My wife's just broken her old kindle e-reader.
Would this be a good replacement or would she be better getting another kindle (she uses it mainly for reading books)

For mostly book reading, you can't get much better than the Kindle Paperwhite, which Eink with a backlight. The PPI is also really high, so text is really crisp.

This device is a porky little fella and your wife might notice it's weight when reading for longer periods.

Cheers for that. Any recommendations for a cheap e-reader, Kindle is about £60 at the moment, dont really want to pay that much if I can help it.
