I checked amazon before posting this, they weren't the same price, must have changed the website after I posted ....
Either way good deal

Agreed!

You used to be able to get the offers removed by support for free, not sure if this is still the case.

When I bought mine there were reports that this method had stopped working but I tried it and it worked fine.

Its worth paying a little extra for the Kindle Voyager.

"a little extra"

Lol... it's £60 more... 67%...

Got both and can't say there is anything better over this. The only real difference is the page turning buttons which I find to be hit and miss. So much so you need to press exactly in a certain place which makes it not as easy as just simply tapping the screen. Side by side I find the paper white slightly clearer. Obviously just my opinion but would save your extra money and go for this.

When the voyager first came out that was the case but paperwhites now have the same screen resolution so the differences may not be worth the extra cost.

I'll stick with my £25 Nook simple touch thanks!

Same price at Amazon. Both the Amazon and this one have adverts on the sleep screen but they can be removed without charge apparently.

John Lewis will price match, then you get 2 year warranty.

Totally Agree.

Worth the extra money all day long.

Can you use it to browse the net n **** like that? I need something like this for that, I've been wishing for an eink monitor, but no one does it

I'm considering both of these, what makes the Voyager so much better for the money in your opinion? Thanks

Its a lighter weight with a sleeker design and better build quality, magnesium backed as opposed to plastic.

The display's flush with the bezels, stopping dirt getting in the corners.

I find the PagePress function on the Voyage a bonus as it gives you haptic feedback without needing physical turn buttons. Takes a bit of getting used to, but it's ultimately rewarding.

The adaptive front light is a revelation and most noticeable when you read at night, which I do a lot.

The text is more vivid on the Voyage, darker, and pops a little more than the slightly duller text on the Paperwhite.

The backlight is far more even on the Voyager display and you won't notice half the display being brighter like happens with the Paperwhite.

4GB internal storage as opposed to the 2GB on the Paperwhite.

Last thing is that the Voyage comes without the adverts and screensaver nonsense as standard.

In summary, the extra £60 for the Kindle Voyage gives you a better e-reader than the Paperwhite in nearly every way. It’s got a slightly better screen with improved backlighting; a nicer, more compact, more tactile design; and double the internal storage, minus the adverts.

Regardless, they're both fantastic.

Good luck

I had 3 voyagers when they were first released and in the end i gave up just had my money back as all 3 had lighting issues. I switched to a Kobo H2O and have been happy ever since however i do still have a paperwhite too, unless the voyager lighting has been improved i would only get one from amazon for the easy returns.

can vouch for this... all I needed to do was contact support and say can you please remove ads and it worked a charm

The good thing about this tech is its longevity. I have a very old Kindle and because it is a focused purpose device it is just as good at doing its job now as it ever was and there is nothing obsolete about it. I expect it will be good for a few more years yet.

I wouldn't ask JL to price match because their price is currently 4p cheaper than this one.
