Is a kindle rammed with adverts like the fire HD is?
Sadly not for me
didn't work for me either
A great deal if you can get it
account specific. Great if you get the email but rubbish if don't.
Has been posted a few times in last 6 months but I'm yet to get an email despite adding one to my basket and not buying it
I didn't receive any email but the code worked for me.

There are ads on the screen when it's off (or sleeping) and there are small banner ads at the bottom of the home screen where you choose your book from. You don't get ads when you're reading.
No luck - are people who have this deal on the kindle unlimited subscription?

I personally wouldn't buy one of these then, I don't use my HD due to being force fed adds I'm not interested in.
"The promotional code you entered cannot be applied to your purchase."
Works for me.

I have a prime account but no kindle subscription or anything.

Also works on the without offers version for £10 more. Cheers OP!

With your HD you can downgrade, then debloat (hides amazon apps & services so they don't show or run at boot which makes it quicker), remove ads.

There's instructions over on xda & a script which makes it dead easy.

As for the paperwhite, last I checked they were fairly easy to root, so ads shouldn't be hard to remove, again I'd check xda.

This code, and the code READ60, were available for a small number of users back in November of last year. Great if works for you but very much a minority sport
looks like the same code as last time. they said it was an error and an offer for usa accounts sent by mistake.
Doesn't work on my account. Have an old kindle on that account, no prime and no kindle unlimited
I have never seen a problem with adds on my kindle, they only appear on the book at rest. It's not like they pop up during reading or anything.
Great price, shame I can't seem to make use of the code!
So Amazon are either super incompetent or outright liars as like badasschris says, this is the one they were adament was for use on the US site by US customers only and had been sent to a few UK customers in error.

You can use one of the methods mentioned above to remove ads, or pay £10 for the version with no ads.

Luckily the code doesn't work for me either. I really don't need to upgrade my old paperwhite, but probably would have done...

Either that or the fact I have a Prime account
Not for me on 2 accounts
the kindle has to be my #1 most travelled yet least used piece of tech ever. i got the non-backlit one for £50 2 years ago (had spare argos vouchers) and have taken it everywhere, it still works fine, i just don't read.. anyone else? it's not good, i know. somehow i don't think a backlit one would have me reading any more either..
Random question.. Does anyone know how this Kindle handles monospace fonts? (the fonts used for software coding/development). I read a lot of Javascript books with examples and don't know how they'd display.

Ha, yes. Exactly. Used to read loads, but since kids/own business I just tend to collapse now at night at the times I would have read...

No idea if they still do it, but they used to just switch off the ads if you messaged customer service on live chat. I saved £10 or something by buying the "with ads" version and then just got the ads turned off.

Do you read normal paper books? Maybe it's just a time thing.
I found that when my near vision went off a bit, the Kindle with it's font size control was the answer!

You agree to see the ads when you purchase a discounted model like this.

You can pay the £10 if you don't want to see the ads. No-one is force feeding anything
great deal not working for me but have some heat
Not working for me, have prime and kindle unlimited trial and a kindle already.
