But if you don't live in India you are not entitled to this, so how is it any different to, for example, not paying for car insurance. That is much cheaper than actually paying for car insurance, and, like this, the only downside is it's illegal.
Lol what's illegal?

Illegal: contrary to or forbidden by law, especially criminal law.
Don't see how one would break a law by doing this. Its probably the right time to start using words carefully.

Not going to argue semantics over the fact that it's a statutory offence rather than anything more. Fact is, you're not allowed to do it, it is criminal activity. Whether or not you care is up to you, and of course it's very unlikely anyone else will care enough to prosecute you, but don't pretend it's permitted. For me, this sort of thing shouldn't be promoted as though it's just another good price someone found.

Awesome..... Maybe I should post instructions on how to get yourself three wives because that's allowed in some other countries. Don't want to be a jobsworth after all! Genius!

Yes, under the Fraud Act it is a statutory offence. Honestly, nobody is going to prosecute you because nobody cares, but something actually being illegal is enough to make me not do it, and I accept that it isn't for some people but don't think it's a 'Hot Deal' just because it literally comes under 'Theft' in the criminal code.

If it was illegal, moderators/admin guys of HUKD would have removed this deal from the website by now. Nothing wrong with it. People claim Netflix US subscription all over the web and no one gives a $$$$.

From CPS website:
Obtaining services dishonestly (Section 11)
The defendant:
obtains for himself or another;
services; dishonestly;
knowing the services are made available on the basis that payment has been, is being or will be made for or in respect of them or that they might be; and avoids or intends to avoid payment in full or in part. The defendant must have the necessary intention at the time that the service is obtained
The maximum sentence for the Section 11 offence is five years' imprisonment.
i dont get how this is being compared to not payin car insurance thats a big jump from tellin a little lie about the country u live in...to driving without insurance lol u r still payin for the service...and uk never gets any real deals on amazon so why not take the deal
It's not even remotely comparable to bigamy either... or would that be trigamy with three wives..?

Hilarious. I honestly find it funny that some of you genuinely do not believe that a company has a right to offer their services at prices they determine that may differ from country to country, and that that right is supported by law. I couldn't possibly care less if any of you think this that your personal morality elevates you above that legal fact. Surely you must concede, though, that this is not a deal, but a scam, which was my only point.
If it's getting one over on Amazon, I'm all for it

ok so in your whole life you have never EVER done anything wrong!?? get down off your high horse because noone is that perfect whether u want to admit it or not every1 has done something in life they shouldnt of
Difficult to see what all the fuss is about, given that this is Amazon - and Amazon infamously and aggressively manipulates its addresses around the world all the time to minimise its tax liabilities.

Do you really believe when you buy that book or tablet that you're buying from:

Never one did I suggest that. Wrong point in the wrong place.
Listen - last post I'm making on this. I don't judge any of you for anything you choose. I don't pretend to have the right, or that I don't make loads of mistakes almost the time. I am just stating that this is a scam and not a deal. The legal position is clear and unambiguous, even though it is not what anyone would think is an offence of any significance. I find it ironic that people might use Amazon's definitively legal, but subjectively amoral business practices to justify their own definitively illegal but subjectively moral activities for personal gain. However, I have never once suggested that it is important, a big deal, or in any way something to get upset about. it's just that it is, unquestionably, a scam and not a deal. Thanks. Mike drop! Peace!

I have avoided getting personal with anybody. I just started the fact, without judgement, that taking this 'deal' is illegal. Do what you like with that, including judging me if you feel like it.

So you're Indian? Lol, way to make your point, man!
what happens if you want to buy anything else not kindle related? will they charge you in rupees?
I'm on my 32nd Amazon prime trial. Is that against the law too? Will I go to prizon?
And my 15th google play music trial too.
Look, however you slice it the guy is right. This is not a deal but a circumvention and he is also right to say HUKD shouldn't *really* be promoting such things as the line gets greyer and greyer...

However, I also don't really care and perfectly comfortable operating in that space (like most of you).

What I won't do is try and comfort myself by chatting inane nonsense about amazing tax efficiency or use false arguments to suggest this is not *really* wrong.

It is. And I love it.

Yes you will be charged in rupees as long as you are buying from Amazon.in and have your home country as India.
You will be required to change your home country back to UK to be able to purchase things in pounds.
