Images seem to show varying amounts of sand, I can't tell how much 1/2 lb of sand is.

Do you have a bag of sugar in your house? If so, as a rough idea, if it's 500g it's half of that, or if it's a 1kg bag then quarter of that.

This 3lb kit is also 30% off but with no sand 'pit', so it depends on whether this is your first set or not.

I'm going to buy this to see if my daughter will play with it - no point in buying more if she goes back to PlayDoh (or it ends up all over the floor). (edited)

My daughter enjoys but I end up carrying on playing with it long after she moves on to something else. I can’t fully explain why it’s just strange stuff
It will end up all over the floor and if there’s multiple colours they’ll all merge together over time into a nice brown colour.
