I don't expext this to get any heat but it's a bit of a "heads-up" for anyone interested as this isn't usually about for long. Brewed by Rodenbach in Belgium for Cobra this is a proper Trappist style beer brewed by a well respected brewery. I think it is done in limited batched that is why it availability is unpredictable. It's not cheap by Leffe standards but then it's not produced "industrially". I do feel the usual price of £5.49 (I think) is a bit steep but It's worth a dart for this specially reduced price.
Having said all this Rodenbach Grand Cru is the most disgusting beer I've ever tasted - think of off beer with half a pint of vinegar added but some people like it. This is nothing like that I am pleased to say.

FOUR QUID ???????
For a bottle of - albeit strong, - beer ?
Yes, it's about a pint and a quarter or so, but still. Cold from me.

I ought to have a crystal ball. There's more to beer than how much Fosters you can slam down. Brewing is a skill and the products produced are meant to be savoured. Mass produced lagers have their place and their price is reflective of the methods and ingredients used to produce them. You are correct in what you say but we could all just about live on basics bread and water but it wouldn't make for a good life.

Sorry to get "holier than thou" but this is where this site falls down. What is it that old Oscar said "some people know the price of everything but the value of nothing".

He was answering the question 'What is a cynic?' to which he replied "A man who knows the price of everything and the value of nothing"...and keeping up your Oscarisms...he said "One can survive everything nowadays except death"
