nearly paid over the odds yesterday.

Cheers!

does the alpha oil really last 100 shaves. That seems impossible with just 15ml. I was gna get one, I got combination skin n its prone to gettin spots, which 1 would be best?

This stuff is far better than anything that comes out of a can.
As its an oil, you only need 2 or 3 drops & they do go a long way.
I have a tough beared & makes shaving for me effortless.

Great stuff. Lasts forever.

I've tried the oils a couple of times, and can't get away with them, but love the gels, they're all I've used for the past few years, fantastic stuff, will pick some up today.

I cannot get on with the oils either. I prefer shaving cream in a tube (not a gel or aerosol) from Real Shaving Co. Lovely shave every time for me.

but still a good deal for those that use oils.

Buy one get one free on some of their products too - boots.com/web…051

Nice, will try these out

love the gels. use them all the time. sounds like its time to stock up.

I tried KOS when it first came out but found that it would clog up the blades on my razor...used to cost me a fortune! Anyone had the same experience or have they tinkered with the formula these days?

BTW you can now get shaving oil called "Nuage Men" (?) for around 80p/25ml. Tried it and it's just as good as KOS IMO - just a LOT cheaper.

I agree, forever trying to flush the crud out :-(
I used it for a good while, but got fed up with it for a few other reasons - for one, *I* am the one cleaning up the wash basin afterwards, and it is a greasy mess; it is LETHAL if you shave in the shower, turns it into a skating rink; it needs a bit more than they claim, although 2 or 3 drops does the trick; and it is not much better than gel type foams anyway.

I've used King of Shaves for years. I use both oil and the Gel. Never had any problems. Both give a great shave and don't dry the skin out. I'll be stocking up. Heat added.

Don't forget

£1 off any king of shaves ultragel ulx advanced shave serum, and £1 off any king of shaves woman product

I use a couple of drops of the oil, then the gel on top. Works a treat! As for clogging the blades, you need to dip the blade into the water after each stroke, don't give the bristles a chance to work their way between the blades.

I Have decided to grow a beard! Tough economic times call for tough beards!!

[CENTER][LEFT]I have no trouble at all with blades clogging when using the gel, but then I dont use the disposable or refillable razors you lot are, if my razor gets blunt I just get stroppy with it

Cost about £40 for a decent razor and strop, which is what I spent a year on blades alone, factor in the straight razor lasts a lifetime and you are well set for the best shave of your life:thumbsup:

yeah, can we use the £1 off (from the KoS website) with the Boots deal?

It's great stuff. Especially good when you are travelling as the bottle is so small.

My advice would be to start with the Antibacterial Face Wash : boots.com/web…051

Then use the AlphaOil Antibacterial Shaving Oil : boots.com/web…051

Then whatever shave gel you prefer, and finally finish with some Active Skin Control Cleansing SPF8 Moisturiser : ]http//ww…051

That's the combo I use.

Superb Offer! Thanks

I have found plain old soap to be the best. Find some real stuff with glycerol, leaves the skin refreshing and moisturised. No need to rub in ever chemical known to man. I bought a tub for like £5, must have been at least a year and plenty left.

I use the cool shaving gel excellent good deal

You have got to be kidding, either that, or have a beard growth like a peach!

Tried them ALL over the years, shaving soap is not even as good as cheap foam in a can, and there are a lot better things to use than that! Yes you CAN get a good shave, but not without a LOT of preparation (like soaking/hot towels or steaming your face), care, and TIME. It is all but dead and extinct for a good reason, it needs a lot of work and effort to get a good shave with it :-( Still got a brush and soap etc. sitting in the bathroom, gathering dust, as it is just not worth the effort, I only take money saving SO far!

While it has been the source of a LOT of money making for companies, it is for good reason - modern shaving products, especially gels and most of all multi-blade razors are light years ahead of the stuff that I used to have to put up with! The end result need not be any different, as the old methods do work, but it takes a fraction of the time & effort with oils or gels and a good vibrating multi-blade razor. The number of nicks and cuts as a result is far less too! Being a brass player, I found it so bad, I grew a cheesy looking moustache many, many years ago to cut down on the inevitable cuts on my top lip that invariably came with using an ordinary razor blade :-(

I have used oils, cant say KK but David Somerset, all of the gels by Gillete, Palmolive etc.. and they dont do anything special for me. Oils do a fine job but (for me) not as good as soap. I dont really like gels/foam. Leave the skin dry. Another thing I learn was the importance of a sharp blade. I don't feel like throwing away a mach3 blade after every use, or even 2-3 times; costs a fortune. After plenty of trial and error found that ASDA's disposal with swivel heads are well worth it. £1 gets you 10, dispose off after use. Always with a new razor sharp blade.

Edit: I did like some foam. Noexcma or something, dont know what was in it but left a nice sensation afterwards. Cant find it anywhere now.

I can relate to that - For a while I was using two disposables each shave, and found that did a fairly good job, nearly as good as, yet still cheaper than the branded blades, but have crept back to using brands now, although it is less of a problem as I don't work now, and can enjoy the luxury of shaving only when I WANT to, THAT is what saves the money! Even had a beard some of the time over the past year or so, but only when I haven't got anything "social" on the go, I wouldn't go out dressed in that state, and they are an itchy nuisance really :-)

terrible stuff, just made caused inflamation and didnt stop razor burn......the cheapest gillette sensitive foam is much better. The king of shaves gel is ok though
