Handy trays, don't like Kingsmill.

Just phoned my local store and spoke to bakery department....because they went down to 2p this morning they were told they weren't allowed to sell them....and had to throw them all in the bin! Even staff weren't allowed to buy them at this price....they had hundreds apparently. What a waste :((

You should ring the store again and see if they would be allowed to give them to charity. I agree what a waste.

The waste in this country knows no bounds.

Stafford were flogging them off cheap yesterday too.

Wonder if terryasda will drop in with his excellent customer service skills to tell us not to hassle staff.

Hmmmm, still 50p each at my local Asda in Newport. I'd grab a few at the 2p price point. Maybe they'll lower the price tonight.

going to ASDA Leyton to check it out.

I know nobody will believe me but I'll say it anyway because it is true...

They were giving these away at the front of Asda Newton Abbot this morning at 9.30. Two per person. I got two. No receipt because they didn't need to go through the tills.

You may now all call me a liar... while I have a coffee from a mug on my new tray!

(BTW, they only had the 'loaf of hope and glory' ones)

Absolutely ridiculous. Does Asda get more than 2p for chucking things out? It's not as if plastic goes off!

Not gonna even bother with my local Asdas - have never found any of the bargains in any of the local ones.

I believe you because mine was doing the same - had hundreds, with woman saying they'd been told 'to waste' any they had left this morning but she wants them to go to good homes, 50 had already gone to the preschool round the corner & 50 more were waiting for a nursing home... They have charity collection points by the doors yet they're told to bin perfectly usable items, at least some managers&staff have common sense!

My local were giving them away at the checkouts, Bolton store on Manchester road.

No need to knead the bread or buy it!

They are scanning at 2p in my Asda but they are now giving them away free! Got 15 of them to give friends at work and a few for myself. Has to be a bargain at Free! My local is Kendal Asda if anyone wants to go down there was a load left.

Giving them away at the St.Austell store as well and they've got pallets full of the things near the doors...

Giving them away in my local too, 2 per customer. Was told they had a memo down from Asda HQ informing them to give them away.

It cost Asda nothing though as it was a kingsmill offer

Bought 5 for 10p X)

Just been to Asda Worcester and they still have these selling at 2p up by the bakery section

Just went to Asda Walsall and they were selling them for 2p... but they were all sold out!
