Any good for in cupboard lighting?

Yes, it would seem so. Cupboards, lofts, sheds, basements even if it's just to help you find the actual light switch

Good price for these - I bought a couple at £8 each recently - one for an understairs cupboard and the other for the bathroom (under a cabinet so quite discreet) and it works brilliantly. YMMV but I had to send back the soft white version - the PIR on it just did not seem to work as well as the brilliant white versions. Who knows why? Getting a few more of these at ths price so thanks OP

I use these in my outside toilet and in my motorhome, they are great for £5.50 but £10 is a bit steep, thanks op. also cheap on the bay.

I have these also in my under stairs cupboard , and in my caravan wardrobes which come on as soon as I open the doors. Batteries have lasted months . I bought mine on eBay for a wee bit less than a fiver . But all in all a good light and deal .

do they only come on when it's dark?

They come on when they detect motion so work better in the dark

Have one of these in the boot of my car, works pretty nicely although using the magnet strip, it gets bumped off pretty easily. Build quality is a little weak and can be pretty tight when using high capacity batteries but seems to be holding up fine after a few months.

Ive gone for twin pack with rechargeable feature for £2 more per light (£14.95 for 2):…N9V

Just trying mine out (bought two). The PIR's doen't seem to detect any motion other than me grabbing the light with both hands
