Hot! I recently posted and bought the 180gb kingspec for 40 quid and it has made boot up much faster which is great improvement.

Capacity of the 180gb was 167gb due to 1024 bytes treated as 1000 etc and ao it is 180 / 1024 / 1024 / 1024 x 1000 x 1000 x 1000.

Something to bare in mind when copying your os drive over.

I used easeus free and it copied a 500gb partition over after I reduced usage down within limits

Pretty much every HDD/SSD makers uses this con; it is very annoying, but we consumers have no alternative.

+1 for KingSpec, I have had one of their early SSD drives for years.

Be wary of Chinese brands with similar names - ie KingSpan. Had the controller on one of those die after 10 days.
I had one of these and it was fine (no complaints) but I don’t know why you’d choose this for more money over the Integral 128GB from MyMemory which is a cheaper, bigger brand and UK shipped. I also use the Integrals and while not the fastest, it has been stable and reliable so far.

Agreed, the Integral for £25 is a no brainer, lots of us have bought one and had great results.

Pretty much what I did too. Got our hands on some low-cost Haswell generation ex-lease laptops and ultrabooks and put one of these into them, they absolutely fly now. Even an old Lenovo X60 with an SSD is very usable, even today!
