I have stolen this from polly69 who posted it a week ago. It's now £2.50 cheaper, though.

Check your own laptop for compatibility at crucial.com/uk but I think it should fit most ION-based netbooks e.g. HP Mini 311.

This is not my first post, so be gentle! Wait, what...

This is the original thread. Full credit to polly69, so feel free to heat up his/her original thread.

Unclear to me if polly69 is a guy or a girl... unlikely a girl would choose 69 unless the first 68 pollys were taken though.

Great Price Heat Added!

Note as this is DDR3 it will only work with newer laptops/netbooks. As the OP says always check it out at crucial or w.e.

Still a great price though.

Nice price. Anyone tried it in a HP Compaq Mini 311c ? Is there much of a performance increase over the 1gb currently on board ?

Memory prices are falling like dominos

Hmmmm looks like a couple of these would be ok for my 2010 21.5" iMac but it doesn't seem to be suggesting this part number on the Kingston website. Anyone have any advice why this might be? Seems like a bargain!

Don't know about performance, but this post on another board confirms it's compatible at least.

It'll run at 1066Mhz in the 311c.

Cheers!
Bought a stick for my Acer Aspire One 521, should be fine for that model for anyone else that picked one up a few weeks back.

Take it this is too advanced for the likes of the Samsung NC10 from 1-2 years ago

Nope you'll need DDR2 in the NC10.

Does anyone know if these would work with the late 2009 macbook pro?

Thanks.

The same memory in DDR2 that I need is TWO and a half times more expensive!?!

If that's true then why the heck are my spare DDR1 simms worth nothing? Shouldn't they be even rarer? :P

There's a point of diminishing returns when it comes to selling old second hand RAM on eBay. No current systems support DDR1 so there is very little demand but a lot of old stock from people breaking down old systems.
Whereas you can still buy DDR2 systems new and there are a lot of decent older systems that can benefit from a RAM upgrade.
Therefore there is still a fairly strong demand for DDR2 but for DDR1 I imagine it is minimal.
It comes down to supply and demand as much as anything; basic economics.

On top of that newer RAM uses smaller fabrication processes so is cheaper to manufacturer which also leads to cheaper prices eventually.

The 2010 21.5 iMac uses CAS Latency: CL9 also so this will most likely work. If you want absolute compatibility, at the moment you can get the ram from Crucial for £17.50 (with 7% coupon discount).
