this is full size desktop memory, not 200 pin notebook/laptop memory.

I have to question the sanity of anyone buying a 256Mb DDR2 memory DIMM, even at this price. And if this was ever £20 my name is rip van winkle ......

1Gb DDR2 5300 from crucual is £11.49

Hello Mr Vanwinkle:)

amarisit.co.uk/pro…256

Hmm, it's a cheap enough price but I don't think it will be useful to anybody as an 'upgrade' It's not even an obsolete spec so if your mobo supports 5300 you may as well go for ]the Kingston Value 1GB from Play which would be a worthwhile upgrade from 256 or 512MB.

Voted hot

Hot price, but I would find it hard to fathom why anyone with a DDR 2 specced motherboard would use this. If someone had a really old PC that had 256mb and they wanted an upgrade to 512mb for better performance in XP maybe, but someone with that sort of spec would no doubt be running DDR not DDR 2.

voted cold, 256mb today is not something anyone should be purchasing. and if the computer you are running deems this as an upgrade, then a new machine is needed.

the price is decent, but the item is next to pointless now.

showing £11.49 for me
