Bear in mind that Kingston brand is pretty impressive in that it’s the most compatible with odd devices...dash cams, consoles, etc..,any time I’ve ever had SD card issues, shove a Kingston in, issues go away....worth the slight premium
My 2 year old 64GB version isn't happy in my Galaxy S7, still not sure if it's the card or phone.

Have found they're made by a third party and formatted capacity is low, possibly low grade chips in them:

will this work with the Yi home camera? I need a sd card but seen a few comments that it needs to be certain write speeds or something.

Class 10 should work no problem. I have the yi 720p and put a class 4 in and works fine. I think this is cheaper on eBay for 7.95

Thank you, am looking for one for the YI
Good price. I need one for the Yi cam too. This sounds ideal.
Anybody know what is the fastest (read, write, both etc) SD card? I never got to grips with how to work it out, classes, U1 or U3 etc. Or which are meant for continuous use? e.g. the way WD purple drives are optimised for surveillance, red for NAS etc.

Obviously the proof is in the pudding (i.e. benchmarks) but as a rule of thumb? I've never found an SD card that is faster than a USB 3.0 memory stick - is there one?

[asked this question under another SD card deal too]

I've looked at a lot of benchmarks and Sandisk Extreme cards come top. When tested in a phone, Samsung cards come close and a lot cheaper.

Thinking of recording HD on mobile. This has minimum write speed of 10MB/sec - according to the above it needs 30MB/sec for full HD.

Thanks, that's a great help. So putting general use (video capture etc) a half decent USB 3.0 stick will be faster than most or all SD cards.

It's confusing isn't it? Card manufacturers like to quote the max possible speed but the various speed classes are judged on the minimum write speed (more important).
