go to crucial.com and run the scan tool. it will tell you what you have and the max you can go to.

It should be compatible but it depends on what you have in there at the moment, i.e. if it shipped with 2Gb does it have one stick fitted with one slot spare or 2 separate 1Gb sticks populating both slots?

I think because it's DDR2, but what people don't realise, DDR2 memory has gone up since it's no longer being manufactured. What's worse, it's laptop memory, so this is the only way to upgrade for some people.

I'm selling some of this for cheaper (1GB sticks) if anyone wants to PM me

DDR2 has become more expensive than DDR3 which is a crapper. I've got an aged laptop that uses DDR2, but i've upgraded already!
