Mamboboy submitted the good prices at CCL, but I just found the 667MHZ chips are cheaper at dvd.co.uk

Also Quidco, hopefully at 4% (Quidco states 4% for electronics sales). If not it will only be 1%.

When you look at the memory, it takes you to dvd.co.uk, which I think is the old name for Base? Confirmation email says dvd.co.uk.

will this work in a laptop?

Original Poster

No, this is for desktops I'm afraid. There are various 2GB laptop sticks here.

But from the deal that mamboboy posted, CCL are doing them at similar prices (around £22 or £23) - cclonline.com/pro…791.

Would this RAM work with a Acer Ferrari One F200

Wow, I thought the price of DDR2 was going/was already right up because most fabs will have switched over to DDR3 oO

I was hoping my 2x2GB Geil PC6400 would be worth something soon when I upgrade (_;)

will this work in a dell dimension e520?

Rudki, this RAM is for desktop PC's only, so no, unfortunately. But there are sizes/types that all seem reasonably priced. Or search for mamboboy's CCL deal and have a look there.

Andy, you will need this RAM - dvd.co.uk/buy…htm. I had a look on the Dell site, and your model needs 533Mhz, which is £21.49.

Hope this helps.

Working fine here.

RRP: £99.00. You Save: £81.01

LOL X)

Good deal, cheers for posting this long time since I saw this price, ordered and heated.

NO thats a latop (same as mine). the ram shown is for DESKTOPS.

Anyone looking for faster DDR2 (like me) I've posted this here: hotukdeals.com/dea…85/

Not trying to plug my own deal (couldn't care less about stuff like that) - just trying to be helpful.
Only problem with the ones I've posted is DIMM height.

Sorry mate, there was a full stop at the end of the link!

dvd.co.uk/buy…htm

That should work. Don't know if you can get 533MHZ cheaper than £21.49 though, wouldn't have thought you'd get it much cheaper.

Perfect for my computer, cheers

Good deal, if you need 200pin instead Play are doing it at this price as well

Tried to see if this is compatible with an Advent 9003 desktop, but no luck on Google, all I can find is I need DDR2-6400. Any techies know if I can buy this ram or should I just buy from Crucial (for £23)? Cheers!

Is this your desktop? pcworld.co.uk/gbu…-11

If so, yeah you need 6400/800Mhz DDR2. Check this deal out. hotukdeals.com/dea…09/

You just need to check what your system has. Mine can take 4GB over two slots, but only had 1GB sticks in each one, so had to buy 2 x 2GB. You might only need one.

Got an email this morning saying order will be despatched today, first class.

Tempted to get 4GB of this as half my RAM has just failed.
How do you work out what the 'speed' of it is.

On Crucial it says i can have DDR2 PC2-6400, DDR2 PC2-8500, DDR2 PC2-5300.

I have 4GB of PC2-6400 installed,
what is this RAM? just says 667mhz

On my current RAM i have 800 listed so i pressume if i bought this RAM my whole system would run at the slower speed of 667?

will this work in a laptop?

this is 240 PIN DIMM, for laptops you need 200 PIN SODIMM. For a laptop RAM of similar spec (and more importantly similar price) is available at Play.

play.com/PC/…rch

Cheers for the reply, yeah only 1 slot out of 2 is used with 2GB ram. I'll have a gander at the innards later.

I'm pretty sure your RAM would be limited by the slowest chip, so it would run at 667Mhz. I linked to another deal that someone posted, where I think the 2GB 800Mhz chips were about £21. Still much cheaper than they generally have been!

Nice one. Voted hot!

It's about time the DDR2 came down in price!

Got mine in the post on Friday. Very noticable increase from 2GB, but only 3.25GB of RAM showing as I'm on 32bit. Will be installing 64bit in the next few days, so should hopefully notice even more imnprovement.

Only thing I noticed was that the packages came on seperate days, they both have the same Kingston product number on them, but the second chip that came is half the size (in terms of height, not width!). Never seen a chip that size before, but still says it 4GB installed.
