Bought six of these so I can start up a holiday village in my back garden

You have to build it yourself so you are just paying for some wood

monkeybum holiday village.... it has a nice ring to it.....

Wood cut to the correct size with joints. Felt roofing. Fixtures. There's a big difference between buying this and buying some wood, namely the fact that if I bought one I would be able to make a cabin, but if I bought the other I would not.

I sure hope these things come with better instructions than flat-pack furniture (_;)

I was going to whittle one out of matchsticks ..... just to keep the costs down....

We had a quote yesterday to have one custom built. 18' x 12' for £2000 including concrete base and removal of old wooden shed of the same size.

Ladies prefer the hardwood.

If I could afford one, would make great pressie for hubby!

Is this a deal? Aren't they normally this price or is this a special offer of some kind?

Not being vexatious just a genuine question

Thanks

Well this should go a long way to solving the housing crisis! Ideal first time buy! I wonder if they do a fix rate mortgage, and will i have to pay stamp duty?

As with all these log cabins, be aware that the dimensions are the overall size, including verandah, NOT the internal size.

what's the rental value?

Looks like the main timber isn't pressure treated. That's not good. To be mantenance free and last 20+ years it should be pressure treated, ideally look for CCA and the wood will have a green or a brown tint.
Properly treated softwood will last a lifetime in a garden building.
Hardwood doesn't necessarily last longer than softwood, hardwood is more difficult to treat and can still rot in a few years.

As it's not treated I'd say it's not a good deal, there are better option out there.

As they have stupidly gone over the 2.5m height restriction you would have to keep it 2m from any boundary, had they kept it under 2.5m you could have gone right up to boundary.
