Flash memory branded by WD are actually made at the Kioxia plant (SSD's, USB flash drives, etc). (edited)
It's the G2 version with DRAM cache too.
If you put them in an external USB enclosure, you can't really get over 1000mb/s. You can get maybe 1300mb/s if you use an expensive £100 thunderbolt 3 enclosure AND if the computer has one of those ports.
Despite the stated speeds of usb3.2 and thunderbolt 3 ports, external drives are just super slow compared to internal.
Seems to be a bit difficult and misleading finding this out anywhere on the internet.
May as well buy a SATA SSD and put that in an enclosure instead as it would be cheaper and not perform much differently. (edited)
