Whilst you are on the Currys website looking for this, search for Kenwood Chef - you will find they are better more powerful and cheaper than this Whirlpool product.

You will be better off doing what Bakeoff did and get the Kenwood K-Mix. The Kenwood is cheaper, more powerful and more reliable. It also provides a more consistant mix.

300w is seriously underpowered - no wonder they kept breaking down - that is hand mixer power

What a load of rubbish...

I posted about 6 reviews from different organisations and people who compared the Kitchenaid against the Kenwood. Not one chose the Kitchenaid over the kenwood. Here is a couple of them. Still a load of rubbish? One of the reviewers had 2 kitchaid's break down within 2 months. My kenwood has been going for 15 years

Here's a £15 handmixer at 250 W: argos.co.uk/pro…920 - only 50 W less power than the £274 Kitchenaid

its confusing all these kitchen aid mixers, they all look the same, but they are somehow different. how the hell are you meant to tell if its the lower end model or not?

Nah, they are normally mega expensive and certainly feel very high quality.
300w motor? I bought a Kenwood stand mixer not long ago & there was a cream kenwood from John lewis a month ago with 1000w for £195. What am I missing why is the rrp twice as expensive on a kitchenaid?
Your paying for the brand and quality hence for the price difference.

It's to do with the Kitchen Aid using a direct drive motor, so although it's only 300W it might have the same power or better than the 1000W mixer but being more efficient. They're robust, durable, strong and pretty well-built which equates to the hefty price tag.
£550 yeah right

*might* .... sounds plausible but is it fact?
It's the 150. There seems to be 150, 175 and 185 it's on John Lewis for 479. So bargain! Heat.
So how much is this normally, £350?

My wife wanted one for ages and this could be a good time to buy it, but if it's normally £350, I'd rather wait as I assume this will stay on for a while or will also apply during Christmas?
Nevermind, got one already.
Mine has just been fixed... I’ve only done 4 loads of bread with the dough hook and it stopped spinning completely. There is a plastic dog inside which is to protect the motor not happy.... apparently quite common.. I also had a kenwooed chef major which. I would buy over this it’s so much more powerful, consistent and does it with ease whish I’d bought the kmix. I Wanted the kitchen aid as it’s snaller and thought it would be great for everyday and it looks great on the kitchen side and matches my kettle and toaster but now it’s fixed will be selling and buy a k mix... plus it took just under 4 months to get fixed
Sorry meant *plastic cog.

Like I have been saying but rubbished by people. It is underpowered and the support in the uk is non-existent. It is only made to look pretty in a kitchen.

It is not suitable for what you are paying this amount of money for.

The plastic cog is there to protect the motor ....LOL. So the motor would have blown otherwise. Great mechanics....not.
