John Lewis have red artisan kitchenware stand mixers which are a lot cheaper just because of colour.

This is actually the candy apple red colour (model number 5ksm150psbca) which is reduced to £386 in currys and other outlets. Don't know why they have reduced only this colour but it is most probably the most popular.

Don't know why people would vote cold as I'd like to see where you can get it cheaper if you wanted one.

Bought one for my wife a few years ago and was over £400 so bargain if you ask me.

Why is this not hot???

As above, great colour and best mixer from the best retailer!

I think you also get a free pasta kit at the moment too

That's an amazing price from a great retailer you can rely on. I paid about £400 for mine (which I love). Heat from me!

brilliant thanks! just ordered one as I was waiting for the price to drop and was sure I'd have to wait till Christmas when they usually have them a bit cheaper but not as cheap as this! heat added :-)

That's brilliant! Thanks! Ordered one, have wanted one for years- got the kitchenaid food processor from John Lewis when it was half price before christmas! Any idea how to get the pasta kit?

bought one at crimbo for the wife cracking deal

god that's cheap! Bought one for my gf recently, she loves it. They look quite cool in the kitchen too

I want one and can afford one but it just seems crazy to spend 320 notes on a mixer. It would be in the cupboard when not used so of no ornamental value. I might just get the plastic kenwood chef for about 120 from Sainsburys instead.

Super hot.. thanks a lot. Bought one with the many gift vouchers i have

I've had this mixer for about 10 years now. It's been used to death and still looks good! Just wish mine was in this colour and not the dull (fit in with everything) cream that I have. Great price OP.

We got the deal from Hobbycraft at xmas for £ 270 (after cashback) in black but i doubt that will ever come around again. This is a good price for this if its what you want, and of course have a large use for as we do. Fantastic mixer, and best in class really (plus looks good) heat added

Gutted recently bought this colour and paid £390

Good find

Excellent price for an excellent product from an excellent retailer. Hot from me! Cheers OP!

I didn't know I needed one of these until now (might end up going for the Kenwood chef after a quick bit of researching though)
I hate hukd, I swear this site singlehandedly keeps the economy ticking over.

Cold, the gf does it for free

Glad I could help people. Also like to point out the free 5 year guarantee.

Better than a Kenwood Chef Major ?

MAKE SURE... It's the artisan you see elsewhere as tesco recently were selling the lower wattage lower cost version for a lot less but it looks very similar. I suspect the person who bought it from hobby craft got the cheaper model as the artisan has never been this cheap.

I think it is 270watt v 300watt of the artisan plus some other differences. The cheaper model is the 45 I think????

Thanks OP - got one too!

Shame it's only the candy red. Our kettle & toaster are empire red so it may look odd :(.

Underpowered (300W) Posers gadget. Buy something with more power if you want to use it, if you want something nice to look at, get a bunch of flowers.

Its true don't bother with these, they look nice but nothing like the power from a Kenwood

Not true. Doesn't matter what it is you end up with people who get just a bit too brand loyal.

For beating cake mix, how much power do you want! KA is prettier, however from what I have read both are very reliable and people love which other one they get.

If you need more power, modify a drill.

We don't do enough baking to justify the purchase but it doesn't stop me reading with interest...

Gearing (transmission) and motor output (torque?) make as much of a difference as the actual power value.

You can have two motors of the same power out put but one motor being more efficient at converting the power into movement results in better performance.

Equally, having a tall gear gives you more speed but it's harder to maintain that when resistance is added. A short gear gives you consistant speed even after resistance is added but the overall speed will be low. I might have the tall and short the wrong way around but I'm hoping you understand my point regardless.

I have a Kenwood chef which I inherited from my mother, it's older than me (29 years) and still going very strong.

Heat for the price but I find it very hard to believe that this could be twice as good as a kenwood.

Just tried to order it and it is out of stock. I'm not having much luck with ordering today.

They've sold out folks

OOS, mods can you expire?

Great deal for this amazing Kitchenaid. My fiancée has just bought one. Thanks for posting this up.

Not according to Which? magazine:
Kenwood Chef Classic Major score = 76%
KitchenAid Artisan score = 73%

If you really want a KitchenAid though, £319.99 is a hot price.

[sarcasm] I feel ripped off from my wooden spoon and mixing bowl that cost a fiver.....[/sarcasm]

BTW...they've sold out of C/A Red for £319....

Thanks for this. Super hot. Been looking for ages for one of these. Bought it frm John Lewis with 5 year warranty at amazing price. 2nd hand ones are selling for more than this on ebay!!!

Don't forget it is out of stock online but there are still ones available in store: if you want to grab one call customer services and ask for a stock check of your local store and get down there ASAP!

I bet they are unlikely to accept that, worth contacting JL about it maybe.

I picked one of these up in Watford JL today. Not my first colour choice but good price!
