This a great speaker for the money.
I've had mine for well over a year now and often use it for my echo dot. Very easy to use with a remote too.

Packs a huge punch of bass with a good mid-treble too .

The only two down sides are that there is a volume control and a bass control bit no treble and its mains powered. That aside, its far better than any sub £80 speaker on the market in my opinion.

I purchased the evolution when it was launched at £200 and this beats it hands down for value and sound.

Agree got mine about a year ago and well worth 35 quid . Bass is really good and shocked how loud it is
Snap. Had mine for ages and it is a great sound for this money.
I had to return mine as there somes to be a compatability issue with some apps, i.e.Audible. Where there is a break in narration for a second the speaker 'beeps' and then fades in during the next section of narration and you've missed the start. This seems to happen on Amazon music also but is less noticeable. Kitsound acknowledged the compatabilty issues. The speaker is also noticeably lacking in midrange but is well made and well worth the £35 if the above isn't an issue.
I have a couple of these used on eBay, as new condition, with box. Brilliant speakers with great sound, only upgraded because I bought Google homes to replace them. rover.ebay.com/rov…128

Surely google home I much much quieter?
I have one of these. The bass is too heavy (quite muddy), lacks midrange. My original plan (if the speaker sounded good) was to Chromecast Audio them (as they have 3.5mm in and USB port for power) and use them as Multiroom audio system.
I ended up get some Gear4 Black multiroom speakers from HMV though as Chromecast Audio was £30 for ages and I only wanted to pay £20.

For £35 you could do a lot worse, it's loud but the quality is only so-so.

I would have to say the quality is probably the best you will get at this volume for this price. Its no bose system but I would say only so so is harsh for £35

The quality is pretty meh though, probably better to get something "quieter" that sounds better. Just sharing my opinion so people know not to expect anything amazing.

They are a lot quieter, but they're only small rooms so they're more than adequate, plus I use them for automation around the house.

This is what I put in my kitchen replace the Contempo.

It's £5 more but WiFi & Multiroom too. The sound is definitely clearer, especially the highs and mids. The annoying thing about that speaker though is it doesn't have Next/Previous buttons on it.

Or like Yam did, replace them with a Google Home or Echo for the extra money you have the added bonus of a voice assistant.

I don't think it's a terrible purchase, it's a pretty functional speaker for the price but the sound quality just isn't quite there.

SmartThings

Its bluetooth so you can say "alexa connect my speaker" (for example) and the echo will connect. Volume can be controlled via the dot because the dot has a 1-10 setting for that but and if connected you can use the next button on the speaker that will skip a track from the music service you are using
I bought a couple of these last year for Christmas presents and they have an annoying amount of interference when you plug in the 3.5mm jack and a weird low background noise when using bluetooth but the source volume is low.

That interference on Bluetooth is pretty common on low cost speakers. Part of the reason why they're so cheap. I suspect it's interferrence from the AC on this.

Ah that make sense as I don't have that on my cheap battery powered speaker.
Thanks, remember this time last year some kitsound deals came up. Will pair this with an Echo dot.

That won't work too well, the start off Alexa's sentences will be cut off.

Unless you use 3.5mm, then it's fine but the BT doesn't work well with it.

Had planned on using 3.5mm Jack and Bluetooth. Not primarily for questions but Amazon music. Cheers for the heads up tho

I agree, the upper mids are essentially non existent and the high end is quite flat so useless for detailed rock but fine for the likes of Massive Attack/ Aphex Twinnof you bung the port with some foam so it's not whistling via the amount of air shifted.
I got one for free for posting this top seller on ebay.

Tempted to get this.

I also love the fact that it's a time machine according to the blurb "... showcase your music at its best, allowing you to be transported back to a specific time or place."

We can finally go back and get those hot deals that we missed!

Thats the one
Just recieved mine, although it says "open to check contents" mine definitely been used at some point. From the faint scratches and blemishes on the plastic. But... £35 the sound if bloody brilliant pairs easy. Will be checking how this plays records through the aux port.

Good stuff. They really are great for the price. I've got two now.
Also worth adding this works flawlessly with Echo Dot through Bluetooth, no delay at all. Even allows for the skip button to work
Just used ebay code (listed here www.wbca.st/qLVp0w) PNY2018 to get a further 20% off, making new total price £27.99. Note the code only valid til 6pm tonight.
