In Sainsbury Wellingborough I managed to purchase this KitSound Soul 2 Bluetooth Speaker for £55 and said on the shelf it was reduced from £155! There was about four left on the shelf, in-store and saw a few in the Milton Keynes store last week, but didn't have the funds to purchase it then and wanted to do some research.

Amazon and Argos are currently selling this for around £90-100, so seems to be a genuine deal. All retailers are saying they have previously sold it for £150(ish).

Maybe it is just me, as I've not had any proper decent sounding speakers before, but the sound coming from this unit is stunning! The bass and treble is amazingly crisp and deep.

It is a fairly small device, and easy to move around the house. But weighs a fair bit, so not that suitable to take out and about with you. Considering the size, the sound it is emitting, fills the whole living room!

The speaker also has a bamboo front and just looks so individual, compared to so many generic devices.

The reviews on the Argos and Amazon sites are all very positive.

The battery is said to last 10 hours and takes around 2 hours to charge, it can also be powered directly from the mains while charging.

The only connectivity is Bluetooth or AUX and this cable is supplied. Unfortunately the device comes with its own proprietary charging adapter and connector, so is not compatible with other Micro USB chargers you find on other Bluetooth Speakers.

Rang my local Sainsbury's, although they didn't have one the most wonderful lady on customer services offered to pick one up on her way home from another store and have it ready the next day for me. Cracking deal and I've now fallen in love with Sainsbury's for being so helpful!

No DAB?

Nope, no DAB!

Just a plain simple Bluetooth speaker...

Instead of buying a DAB radio, I listen to radio through my phone (via the internet) and use the Bluetooth speaker.

You can use apps on your phone like RadioPlayer UK or TuneIn Radio that have all the UK stations and can listen to their catch up services.
Also the BBC iPlayer Radio app is very good.

That looks really nice!

Love Kitsound stuff, well made, generally aesthetically pleasing and good sound quality. Heat added. Seems to be around the 90 quid mark elsewhere.

PS Keep an eye on vodafone's ebay store, it's run by the people who own kitsound and they often have amazing offers on their stuff.

£100 in my local (Brentwood)

got one after Xmas for £65 in Sainsbury's in Belfast. Great unit. I've got it hooked up to my Echo dot in the kitchen.

These have been £100 for like 3 years in my Sainsburys and I have seen them at that price in other Sainsbury's too, so don't know where you are getting £155 from?

I have heard this speaker in action and around the £50 mark is about right for this to be honest!

The label on the shelf had two previous prices crossed out at what it was previously, £155 and then down to £95, then the £55.

If you go to Argos they are saying they have previously sold it for £150 and is currently reduced to £95.

Just posting what I saw on the label!

The rrp of this speaker is 150 quid, which is the price Kitsound themselves are selling it for. And, of course, you are paying a premium for the use of real wood/the aesthetics of the product. Definitely a bargain at 55 quid...
