Cant believe my childhood passion of Klackers is available. Cant wait to get these home and give them a good Klacking!
They also had other retro toys from 89p to £1.89 such as roulette, spinning top, marbles and loads more, so well worth a look for stocking fillers for chrimbo
Found in liverpool st johns store,

I definitely need this, because my Klackers are in wife's hands.

Somebody should warn A&E to expect some smashed wrists.

You'll put your eye out...
Wow, these were banned when I was at school, some 40-odd years ago.

I was just about to mention that. Didn't they try to ban these once because of the danger of the klackers smashing on impact and the shards of broken plastic flying into the user's eyes? I was never clear if this was a real, that is it had actually happened, or imagined danger.
60 seconds of fun!
I'm not bothered about smashed knucles and all that PC stuff. BUT I bought my kids some of these from HB a few years ago and one set did send a chunk of broken plastic flying. I don't know if they were better made in the 70s, but these aren't fit for purpose.

I was a kid when these came out and I never saw anyone suspending the clackers from the finger you held them between thumb and forefinger got the momentum going and then clacked overhead and below overhead and below then you broke your wrist and chucked them away
Reminds me of seeing my grandad picking milk up from the door step without his pajama bottoms on.
I've had many a sore wrist playing with these when I was young. Thanks for the memories, heat added
My male dog has what are commonly referred to as "hairy clackers"

You are a clackers sensei.
Oh boy, I had a set of these back in 1970 as a 5 year old.
They were brutal on your wrists.
Around the same time I had a ribbed plastic stick with a propeller at one end and you rubbed a plastic plectrum thing up and down the ribs to make the propeller spin.
And a plastic aeroplane you would swing round in circles above your head to get it's propeller spinning.
And a hollow plastic ribbed tube you swung around to make a whistling sound.

All great toys to a 5 year old although describing them seems similar to describing a marital aid
when we were kids we just weaponize them!

Last time I saw these, ' Are friends electric' had just been released!
Happy days.....and battered hands.
I remember having a glass pair and after a while the glass did fly round the room.

And when I was at school at about the same time we always referred to these as Newton's Balls. Because they demonstrated Newton's Laws of Motion.

I remember these first time round when health and safety didn’t exist. I work in a primary school the P.C brigade will have a field day with these.
You could just wear them like Pru did on Tuesday's bake off 38642362-m5Zjk.jpg

The element of danger has always been part of the fun.
