I ditched Kindle for the Kobo H20 as well. Superb e reader. Kindle lets you buy books from Amazon, Kobo let’s you buy books from everywhere but Amazon. ‘Everywhere but Amazon’ is my favourite store.

Of course, this model is great too.

I don't like how the kindle only supports its own ebook format, i got a load of books via humble bundle but i can only read a few of them, if i convert them, they look weird.

I get books from all sorts of places and all display as they should. Convert and transfer with this calibre-ebook.com/

many libraries let you download ebooks (if you are a member)

Have you tried Calibre to convert them?

It looks like John Lewis have the same price. This includes their 2 year guarantee

Good video review from the guys at Goodereader. They also have a comparison video with the Kindle Paperwhite 3

Original Poster

Just to add - it comes with a 2 year manufactures warranty

Kindle offers better hardware for the money although has the Amazon restrictions. It's the typical printer ink, shaving kit selling model. I like Kobo but would not get this particular model or a 6" in general, just too small. The Kobo Aura One at 7.8" and 300 DPI is nice but has been 200 quid forever, the price needs to come down.

Anyone knows how to enable google play and 3rd party android apps on the Kobo aura editions 2 ?
Just got my mom one, and there is an android app i need to install which has her favourite books
Thanks!

Thanks! Grabbed one at John Lewis
