Do not buy from this company they will not even give you proper stock details and will swallow your money and sell to others if they are their friends.

if they see that customer is shock ed at price they will remove the product from website and put at higher price.

they will cut off calls if they have refunded without customers approval.

Seems a great price, has anyone used this store before?

Welcome to hukd skemo & thanks for posting your first deal seems a good price, heat added

If you ever need help with posting a deal or navigating the site, then please feel free to ask one of the site helpers

used tier one before i also went to their base which is a warehouse to swap something once

looks like a good price for what the seller decribes as grade 2 - 'good as new' item.
think i'll have a good look round their website, looks interesting.
thanks skemo

If this had text to speech I would buy. Still hot deal though

Good spot OP. Ordered a Kobo Touch ereader at £49 delivered. Four remaining.
Can anyone recommend a cheap and cheerful cover?

How do these compare with the Kindle? Do the open the same file types?

Kindle is mobi and this one is ePub. Dunno how they compare. Probably not much difference.

I saw a post on here not so long ago saying that Kobo ebooks were cheaper than Kindle ones...this is just not true! Since buying a Kobo for my GF a few weeks back virtually every book she's interested in is cheaper on the amazon kindle site...I'm going to have to investigate Calibre and DeDRM software soon which converts the formats, I wish Kobo would be more competetive pricewise in their software!!

I wouldnt have a problem getting hold of the books in the format the kindle reads, so the cost isnt a problem, but I wanted to know really how it compares in sunlight and battery life etc, as I know the kindle is impressive in these situations.

Oh well, maybe there is a mobi -> ePub convertion tool?

Most Libraries use them & they seem the best alternative to Kindle !

I think they are virtually identical in the comparison tests I've seen... ...they use the same e-ink screens, the only difference I seem to recall is that the Kobo displays the book cover and the kindle does not...so a bit more attractive for the Kobo.

...the Calibre & DeDRM tools will convert from kindle to kobo but it does seem a little complicated for the non geeks!

You can download loads of books from your local librariy online, if you are a member, so no need to buy downloads.

My other half has a kindle touch and I have a kobo touch as far as I can see there is no difference the kobo actually reads more formats than the kindle ie the kobo reads mobi and epub kindle reads mobi and imo the kobo looks nicer. I have to use Calibre to convert books from epud to mobi for the kindle and have only been doing it for a week and found it easy to do. For half the price the kobo is a great buy wouldn't swap mine. Plus the kobo has sd slot the kindle doesn't.

So, do you buy books in the epub Kobo format and convert them to Kindle? Every book I've looked at getting so far has been cheaper on amazon's kindle site than the the equivalent on Kobo's site...seems to me to be cheaper buying the kindle and converting that to Kobo... ...but then you've got the dreaded DRM problem!

I very much like the Kobo, I'm just a bit disappointed the ebook prices seem to be dearer than the Kindle ones!

any one used the touch one?

tier1online.com/Pro…htm

is it better for the extra money?

Kindle is the best

That's great value!!

Kindle is the best

Well, based purely on the player I'd have to say that the Kobo kick the Kindle's ass...quite severely at pretty much half the price...and it's subjectively nicer looking too! When it comes to ebook prices I'd say Kindle is generally cheaper for decent titles (...you know, the ones you might actually want to read rather than the old classics you had when you were a kid)... ...however, if you can get the Calibre conversion tool to work with a DeDRM tool you should opt for the Kobo and have the best of both worlds!

Fab price thanks, just ordered one - heat added

22 were in stock this morning, 18 left at about 3pm now.

The books I have are passed on from friends or downloaded from sites so just get whatever format they come in, have not bought from amazon or kobo site. I have quite a few PDF format books that were very hard to read on ereader but just converted them to epub on Calibre and they are then fine. As for DRM problems never come across any everything I have downloaded has worked fine

Thanks for that. Certainly cannot complain at the prices. Thanks for the pointer.

Great price! Love my kobo touch. See if I can get my mum interested in ereaders with one of these...

ordered the cheap one for holidays cheers

Wow. 24 hours from initial order, my Kobo touch has just been delivered. Black colour, the original box is in good condition and the actual reader appears mint. Charging it up now. Looking good. Better this deal than all the faffing with staples to receive naff 'free' gifts i neither need nor want. Thanks again OP.

You're right of course, but this way i had the ereader delivered to my workplace and didn't need to get off my lily white butt. I am obviouly not made of the stuff to be a top notch HUKDealer. ;-)

Ordered 2 at the weekend. Just rung them to confirm the orders and ask if I could change to a touch version. She confirmed the order was in and would be sent tonight for tomorrow..... And changed the order to a touch without any extra charge. (she said "it was a little bit more, but not to worry" - outstanding service.)

Sweet, I hope they now don't get a whole load of orders for the cheap once & followed by swops for the touch.

I would have a touch off them for £32.50 but not for £49 when I can get it new for £57. Would get the the £32.50 one but bat life to short.

Lets us know if u actually get the touch.
