Only if you want an android tablet with a really slow monochrome display.
Hot on price really cant see the point of an ereader without a backlit screen though.

There's a mini Nook the same size as this mini Kobo?

More a case of doing it because you can, not because you should

With incredible battery life and easily is viewable in bright sunlight. Granted its display as a tablet is hideous but as a backup for £29 ?

You can't see the point of reading in daylight or under artificial light?

How much of your time do you spend reading an eReader in the dark?

For reading in the day time or if you have lights in your home.
I have a Nook, which for £29 is fantastic. I've loaded all my Kindle collection on it. I wonder how this compares? I need to go research it. I doubt I need two e-readers though lol.
How's this compare to the Nook Simple Touch thats £29?

This is a simple comparison of features >

I've managed to read my ancient paper books without a backlight for the last thirty years so pretty sure I can manage without one on an ereader.

Great device, needs shelf management though.
Although its a great price, i second the nook instead of this - £29 from John Lewis with 2 year warranty
The great thing about this is its size. If you've got a handbag / manbag then maybe the Nook is preferable but for 'pocketability' you can't go wrong with this.

I thought Kindle books wouldn't workon the Nook// Did you have to fiddle with it to get them to load on it?

I've made a guide to getting it to work on a couple of the other Nook deals on this site. Easy enough to do.
There are so many nook deals - could you possibly direct me to the right one to get my kindle books to work on nook?

nook simple touch is easier in the eyes than this piece of kit because of the screen size. I'll have a Nook anyday ;-)
May have to buy this. I like the Kindle, but this is actually somewhat pocket sized meaning I can read it on a long a** nightbus journey home...
Reading with a backlight for more than 30 minutes is a most vile experience. If you've tried it you'll understand, it's much easier on the eyes without a backlight.

Rooting the Nook (which really is easy) is not so much about using it as full on tablet per se, rather you can then download the Kindle Android app and have the best of both worlds - still able to access the Nook's book store as well as the Kindle's and unlike the Kindle the Nook has a micro SD card slot for extra storage. It's also good for viewing general PDFs and Word docs (such as for paper-less work meetings - better than a laptop/tablet). My wife also plays sudoku on her's.

Or a Nook on which you can also read your Kindle books. And comics. And Instapaper. And Read It Later content. And email.
Thanks, bought
Have been eyeing one for a fair number of weeks becoz of the cute size and price. Now I finally succumb - £25 is irresistible!!
For anyone not keen on ordering from groupon, they are £25 at ASDA direct - free r&c
Great deal with the cover for £26.95
HOTSKI!
Is this any good or should I use my iPad??
Those who have bought one - have you received yours? How long does it usually take for Groupon things to be delivered?

Got it this morning too. Loading it up with books now
Would avoid Kobo after my screen broke with incredible ease. Its not covered under their warranty. Many stories of their shoddy product and their even shoddier customer care can be found HERE.
