Just saw this deal at my local ASDA. Seems a good price. Any feedback and tips? It's my first ereader.

nice find

What colour? What branch? Could be another local store offer.

I got a black one in Collindale.

Hot if you can find one. Used to have one of these. Very decent e-reader.

For £30 this is a bargain.

cracking deal if you can get one. Got mine from Staples when they had a deal for about £50 with a free toaster. I love it, got me back into reading again. Have some heat.

I had one but recently changed for the Kobo Glo - This is a good e-reader but it drove me mad having a light clipped on to the top when I was reading at night, due to the extra weight and the glare on the screen from the bulb

this might sound like a stupid question but where do you get the ebooks from?

can you use the same file format as the kindle??

Lots of free books are available from the kobo website and others - there is a list in this thread
hotukdeals.com/fre…015

Alternatively you can buy books from the Kobo website or Google play etc or you can buy collections on a cd from ebay but these are usually pirated.

My son has one of these and I rate it quite highly. Best tip I can offer is to get a case for it. ALL ereaders are fragile so give it a bit of protection...

Download the free Calibre software. It will convert all sorts of ebook formats for use on your Kobo, and others. Lots of free books avail on Amazon, look on the freebies section. Then there's Project Gutenburg, your local library online etc etc. Enjoy.

Has anyone found any in any other stores? I'd like one of these (especially for that price), but I'm in bed & don't want to have to get ready & drive a few miles to find that it's a one off. Thanks.

Just read about the "txtr beagle", a new e-reader that's going to sell for £10. Uses AA batteries and has 5 inch e-ink screen. Personally, I don't think it'll ever reach the shops.

Might just be in one store. You could try the other ones in the area, Wembley and Park Royal. It did seem to be on clearance which, from my understanding, means other stores will soon bring down their prices.

Full price in mine :-(

Thanks been wanting an ereader for awhile and got one, cost 35.99.

What store? I'd love one of these!

Chesser in Edinburgh. Only had white ones left.

probably a little far for me to travel then :-)

What was the barcode on the box please, always best to call ahead and give it

a deals a deal

codes on the box.
product no: N905-KDN-W

Hope this helps. But I just phoned chesser and asked them if they had any, was very helpful and put one aside until I picked it up.

I reckon only 1 or 2 have them. Why people are voting hot? Not pictures showing price or receipt....

@sconto

Agreed not all stores have it at this price. And sometimes it frustrates me as well but soon all the stores will reduce it - as in the near future.

As for your second point, you are welcome to vote cold. Some people MIGHT be posting fake deals and you might feel the same about my deal but I don't feel the need to prove anything. Be content with this community sharing deals with us. You can take the next step and call chesser, collindale and Wembley.
And those stores are too far for u, better luck next time.

Great price if u can find one.

This was posted last week at £35 and people phoning/checking other stores didn't have any luck getting one then either. Definitely not nationwide, still full price for many so clearly not worth making a trip just for this, but if you are in an Asda, check it out and you might get a bargain.

A little investigation discovers it'll only be this price if you buy a phone/contract (normal price will be nearer £50), you need to use a phone with an app for the txtr beagle to get books onto the device because it's the app that converts the ebooks into a format that this txtr beagle can read, and you can only fit five books onto it. In other words, it's rubbish.

£79 in my local asda

So whats the ASDA price guarantee thing about?

Voted cold - full price near me.

Sorry cant work out how to post a pic.

£79 in my 2 nearby asda. Booo

no its a different format to kindle so no amazon books ,although the kobo book store is massive and they do have frrree books too

great deal got myself all my xmas pressies in one go from wembley asda thanx

I never get the bargains, just called both my local stores and no luck, full price in one and no stock in another ally miffed now!

Does anyone know if this takes the right sort of file as the ebooks you can download from libraries. I have a kindle which doesn't support library books and was thinking of a second that could. I think the file is called ePub but I could be wrong with that. Thank you.
