Love this selling point.

* The screen is backlit so you will now be able to see the screen without having to sit like right next to the sun to see anything

I hated sitting next to the sun playing on by GBC as a kid.

It does look somewhat dubious, have they actually got … It does look somewhat dubious, have they actually got permission/licensing for those preloaded games?

It looks like a completely official licensed product to me

I am going to hazard a guess here and say... no? lol

clone or carbon copy ?

suppose it's good for a pick up and play if that's your thing, although i suppose if it is, there's mobile phones for that sort of thing

This plays original cartridges too, but makes them look better. The screen is amazing apparently.

I got a friend one of these for his Gameboy collection (as a joke) however the screen is amazing, and whilst not quite as robust as the original, very (very) close.

Of course they haven't got any permissions. The only way it could possibly be legal is if the owner actually owns the physical versions for all 66 games (e.g. I own Pokemon Crystal, so it's fine for me to download a Pokemon Crystal ROM onto my phone). It's not like you'll get caught playing these games illegally though, so browse at the will of your own moral compass
Have been looking for a Gameboy to play my old games on, kept them from when I was 13, can not decide if to save £3 and get it shipped from China as UK shipping is still 5 to 15 days

Pay the extra £3. It says from the UK the seller guarantee s within 7 days. otherwise it could be 6 weeks.

Thats not true its never legal to download copyrighted games unless you have the copryright owners permission. It's only legal if you dump the rom from your own cart.

Yeah nobody is gonna do that. Even Nintendo themselves downloaded roms and put them on the eshop.
dolphin emulator?
Will it only play Gameboy and Color games? If only it played Advance too.

Just so you know the screen is the wrong aspect ratio and the way the pixels are processed is off too
Nintendo are generally hot on case with anything relating to their IP.
That directional pad looks quite bad

I'm not saying anyone should, but having a legal backup is only a thing if you dump it yourself. Nintendo can legally do it as they are the copyright owner.

Yeah, seems like you're right, it's been a while since I've messed about with ROMs

Still got my GameBoy Advance SP, play the hell out of it but still works like I've just unboxed it new. Superb handheld.

Better than dismantling an original one and doing a backlight hack.

There is a version with 188 games on it.

Mind you, from Amazon review with 'unplayable' typo

This is quite possibly the best GBC knock-off in existence. The weight is about the same, it functions exactly the same as the real thing and while it claims to have 188 built-in games, it's actually only 66. Many of the games are in Chinese, making only a small fraction of them unplayable but it still has some very good games in it, such as Contra, Super Mario Land, Pac-Man, Space Invaders and of course, Tetris.

Naturally, the best feature is the proper LCD screen. Everything is crystal clear and long gone are the days of a blurry dark screen. I absolutely love this piece of portable gaming and I will be taking it every where I go from now on.

I have only two minor complaints about it, the first is that, sometimes, the A button registers more than one press and the plastic casing is see-through. It may be a simple task to spray paint it, though.

The one on Aliexpress has 188 games... but only 66 unique ones... they're all repeated more than twice.
Think I'll grab one - a few cartridge games played here - youtube.com/wat…7x4
