How do they work?

Just put it on the area thats aching. Just like an ice pack but the opposite temperature ;-)

They work especially good if you have a stiff neck, from my experiences of using them.

Just what I need after knackering ma knee at football. Cheers for the heads up mate

Yeh, but it says not to heat them and they cant be constantly hot, are they activated by bending/cracking them like other pads?

Yep. Not sure how, exactly, but they're NOT reusable.
I went for the reusable packs as they're only £2.50

we have these in school only in the cool version. Basically just give it a punch and something inside it bursts, fuelling an endothermic chemical reaction that makes it cold.... or something like that
