Are you like me and you keep breaking your glass butter dishes? (I am clumsy, though)! Found some colourful, plastic ones on ebay that look quite stylish and cheap!

Raspberry Red £4.50amazon.co.uk/gp/…3L6
2939340.jpgMustard Green/Olive Green £4.50amazon.co.uk/gp/…4B0
2939340.jpgWhite/Transparent £4.50amazon.co.uk/koz…YA/
2939340.jpgBlack is £5.95amazon.co.uk/koz…KDC
2939340.jpgWas also available in Orange but Unavailable at the moment. There is a Pale Pink/Transparent version from Amazon, but nearly twice the price at £8.65!
2939340.jpgThis style is also online in Dark Blue/Transparent on Wayfair for £17.99!!

Below are the glass butter dishes I really love, which come in various similar styles, but they seem to be made from the most fragile glass ever (either that or I'm more heavy-handed than I think) - usually on ebay these are around £12+. Eg, ebay.co.uk/itm…298 and ebay.co.uk/itm…922
This will be my third glass dish!

Lot of effort and research put into this deal + everybody seretly wants a butter dish in their life even though some will not admit it. Heat from me
Below is the Butter Dish I nearly bought from Amazon Warehouse, but I wanted a bit of colour/kitsch and thought this one looks a bit plain.

(I bought both the Raspberry Plastic, and the Glass one, too - above - the Glass option will no doubt will only last a few months before I break it again!!)

Yeah, butter is desirable again - and I spent years buying St Ivel Gold thinking it was healthy (shudders at the thought of the ingredients!).

About a decade ago I turned Glasgow City Centre upside down trying to find a butter dish, took me days. Now they're everywhere!
Here's some more that don't cost the earth:

Got my butter dish, it's not as Raspberry Red as I hoped (I wanted it to be pink) but oh well, seems decent enough and a good size, lid fits on securely.33795445-00H0c.jpg
Anyone keeping butter outside of the fridge? I find it goes 'off' within a week or two.

I leave butter outside the fridge - though if I'm here on my ownsome I do waste some when it spoils.

You can freeze butter, though (cut it into cubes, in freezer bags, and leave an amount you can use at room temperature in the dish). Something I should really start doing!

I will try that thanks
Great post, louiselouise! My husband has been yanking my chain for a butter dish for ages now but I was underwhelmed with what I found. So as you've done all the hard work, I'll pick one from your links

Glad to help!! I must say the Tri-Star Good Quality Glass Transparent Butter Dish arrived quickly, but wow, really OTT packaging (which is a good thing, but the cling film/bubble wrap was at least three times the size of the box within!).

I will say, though I love the frou-frou-ness (if that's a word) of the Tri-Star Glass Dish, you have to squish the butter lid down a bit to make a 250g block fit properly. The Koziol plastic ones have much more room/a better seal.

The tri-star is gorgeous and kitsch but I keep ours in a cupboard on the wall. I'm really worried glass will end up in a thousand tiny pieces on the floor after it's slipped through my fingers and I'm trying to be plastic free so I'm thinking stainless Steel is my best bet...
