Ha Ha what you guys dont get is you cannot sell booze on ebay. You sell a bottle and the contents are free or of no concern.
Peopleare paying £40 for a bottle that happens to contain rum

Do I need this? No
Have I bought this? Yes

Lol just because somebody is listing an empty bottle for £45 doesn't mean anybody is going to buy it. As for the watches on the listings people are watching the item to see if anybody is foolish enough to buy it...

Don't be fooled

Ive just looked there are some in completed listings going for £40 mark, no idea why people would purchase an empty bottle for that price

fesactly Wade Ceramics founded 1867
**hic**

There is an auction going right now for an empty bottle (seller specifically wrote EMPTY in capitals in description). 10 bidders, 2 days 13 hours to go - current bid £21.00.
And current ceramic bottle looks more atractive than previous one.
Edited by: "motionwerk" 30th Nov

The reason collectors are buying the empty bottle is they are made by Wade the ceramics company and their items increase in value.

I've sold plenty of empties (no, not 'full' empties, actual emptied bottles) on eBay... but never for those sort of prices!

Yup - it's a collectors thing.

My dad used to buy the Horby OO-gauge Xmas wagons and they now go for £40 - 60 (orginally £15-20)

Not sure I can be bothered, as I don't drink rum... unless it's with coke

why would you buy an empty bottle for 40 or more when you can buy one with "content" for 35. am i missing something?

But why would anyone buy an empty bottle for £40+ when the filled bottle is stil available to purchase at a cheaper price? Clearly I'm missing something.

Hence it’s on HUKD !!

Buy it, drink it, Flog it

completed auctions mean nothing on EBay. Sellers have multiple accounts and buy from them self then they leave feedback and then cancel the transaction...

Lol if you really think you're empty bottle will sell for over cost value then good look.

I don't think people are that daft... plus eBay will be flooded with empty bottles due to people buying it thinking they can make £££

Behave...so every completed auction on ebay is the seller buying it themselves

Not exactly a bargain but I got last years black one and this years now that that has ran out. Kraken isn't one of my favourite rums but its nice enough and Maybe I'll make lamps out of them someday... unless of course they go the way of the Natwest Pigs it could be worth holding onto them.

Why would you buy an empty bottle for £40? Some people have too much cash!

RELEASE THE KRAKEN!

I've sold empty Jack Daniel's bottles before, they were limited edition Christmas, Birthday etc. and people paid more for an empty bottle than I paid for a full one, people collect things.

just bought, if the bottles worth a few quid in ten years great, if not iv been introduced to another spiced rum... win win situation

Some people so negative ;/

Free beer?

How limited is it?

Wait 60 seconds, there'll be another one born.

Bought for my dad, spot on! Plus a nice keepsake bottle to boot

Two bottle purchased and a very good present for the father in law.

Not in this case. The bottle is made by the ceramic company Wade whose items can be very collectable (they also made all those Bells decanters many years ago), so for once it's the bottle that commands the price, not the contents.
