The U lock is good. The cable however is very easy to cut using simple wire cutters so probably not the best for securing the wheels. Maybe you could use it for the saddle? I tend to recommend that you take the front wheel off and place it with the rear when locking.

Depends how good your wheels are. If you have a £200-£300 hybrid the flex cable should be sufficient to protect your wheels. If you have an expensive bike with the wheels on their own worth £100s then I'd lock them with a heavy chain or U-lock. Lockable wheel skewers are also a good idea instead of quick-release.

Kryptonite? No good for me then. (_;)

Me and my friend have this lock. My friend's Boardman just got stolen 2 days ago. They cut the U-lock and took the bike and the remains of the lock with them. I heard Kryptonite locks come with a 1 year bike cover with them when purchased new up to a certain value?

The lock was only a month old

You need the broken lock to claim the warranty. Normally thieves leave that behind as it's useless once it's been cut in two.

The insure up to £800, but you have to join the scheme which is about £12 for 3 years I think.

I leave my bike chain at work where my bike gets left all day, and use a U-lock for short-stop local journeys. I don't have a super-expensive carbon road bike, however.

I ended up going for the OnGuard Pitbull for 22.98 although it is a bit heavy tredz.co.uk/.On…htm
