Good find. I use this for high temp. cooking as it has a very high smoke point. I use cold pressed coconut oil for lower temp cooking and for added health benefits.

From an Amazon review, just in case anyone was wondering...

This brand uses RBD oil which stands for Refined, Bleached and Deodorised. It is made from copra which is the dried flesh of the coconut. This flesh has an unpleasant smokey smell and is darker from the drying process which is why the RBD process is needed to remove the unpleasant smell and colour.

Yeah guys, this is refined coconut oil, I used it for a long time before I realized, thought I was getting a good deal but once I did the research I might as well be using vegetable oil.

Its just a fad in the West & it'll pass to be replaced by the next 'super food'

Meanwhile the rest of the world will continue unaffected, probably pleased to have got their coconut oil back!

Whenever anybody is health conscious and attempts to share knowledge there are always cynical people waiting in the wings to criticise it. Probably to justify their own unhealthy existence..anyway, back to the oil, it may contain trans fats...not good, I've been buying this and will now switch!

I think you mean skeptical people.

If you like to use it by all means however it's really not the miracle health substance most of the media/internet/gurus make it out to be.

Not sure about it being a fad that will pass, might be more popular now but I've known about this and used it for more than 10 years, (not this specific product as I recently discovered it was not that healthy) I like the taste of coconut oil in food better than olive oil.

Obviously if new information comes in which says coconut oil is bad and the oil from an elephants nut sack is the next super oil than I'll probably switch as I've always been health conscious, thats just how life works, you learn more and you adapt. anyway this "fad" has been around long enough and will probably be as popular as "extra virgin pure 100% cold pressed by blonde FHM models olive oil" in a bit of time.
