Are discount stores different from normal ones?

Original Poster

Note this is probably store specific.
Last week they had sugar for 50p each.
Also they have tetley 160 tea bags for only £1

Original Poster

Yes. Its a new store just opened a few months ago. They are always having offers on.

Sorry about the picture with the bottle not full. I used some today. Forgot.

This oil is from GM plants. I use it and still seem normal.

Wow, I wish I had one of these shops close by, my ancient diesel Mercedes would love this!

This store is brilliant for deals - they still have dishwasher tablets in there for £1.99 and also washing up liquid for 49p! I had to go to this store a few times to actually start to like it though...!

So can you put this in any diesel car?

Just the bottle? Who drunk the oil?

where can I check if my car will take this?

When the police dip your fuel do they check for vegetable oil?

Is the efficiency 1:1? will I get the same MPG with oil that I get with diesal?

So many questions.

most old diesel cars run on veg oil and its legal so the police don't check for that

ive been running my car on veg oil for 5 years and no problems so far I mix it at 30% diesel

what's illegal is not paying the road fuel duty due to HMRC, as long as you keep records of how much 'duty free' oil you use and pay those duties to the HMRC then it's perfectly legal.

Wow... so this is one store... somewhere... where you can buy ONE of these lol

and this is a 'hot' deal..? HELP!

Hey. I did say there are other various deals there aswell. Eg. Crunchie, Twirl, Dairy Milk 5 in 1 pack for
£1 each. Its a discount Store.

I went to this store today. All the oil was sold out but I got 4 packs of choc, all £1 and 50% free so 6 bars in each pack.

That will do nicely for my diesel car!

Any half price fuel tank fill is a bonus in my book!

I'm afraid that isn't correct, a private car user is allowed to use up to up to a threshold of 2500 litres of new or used veg oil per year without having to pay duty. It's the law of the land don't ya know

How old is old? My car is nearly 4 years old, can I use any oil in it?

In short no. A modern diesel engine (common rail) will ultimately die after using veg oil for an extended period unless you alter the cars fuel system or the fuel (make biodiesel). I'd suggest to anyone wishing to run veg oil have a look around the web, there's piles of information out there.

You do need to keep records of exactly when and how much 'biofuel' you use and retain those records for 6 years. Pay whats due, although that will probably be nothing for most people.

Yes, I agree. I may have misunderstood your point of view here. I had the impression you were saying that duty was due on all biofuel used,

Ha- thought it said Kfc oil

Skobbler Lite is free, this is full Skobbler which was always a paid app, and was about £5-7 IIRC.
