Hi, spotted this yesterday. 400g jar of KTC coconut oil in B&m bargains in Rugby. As always with B&M, whether your store has stock or not is pot luck, but it's a cracking deal if you can find it

To be fair, I searched and found it at this price in a few places after I posted this deal. Oh well!

Useful for hair and teeth pulling only.

Do you taste olives when cooking in olive oil?

I taste olive oil. I tend to use groudnut oil as its quite neutral.
I dont see how any of the things you have mentioned make it unsuitable for cooking.

this stuff is nasty and I wouldn't ever eat it. If you want coconut oil for food then buy something that isn't so horrible. My girlfriends hairdresser gives this stuff away. Seriously, anyone thinking of eating this stuff read some reviews and you may think twice, unless of course you like that chemical smell and taste.

A good price for what it is but much better to get the Extra Virgin (from Home Bargains @£3.99) if you can.

No smell or taste to this i use it in hair. Theres another in bnm £3.99 its delicious smelling and tasting

KTC coconut oil is NOT for cooking with, its refined, domestic use only. Personally, its too expensive at that price. Your choice either way.

What is it with this coconut oil craze, you see it everywhere these days.

All I remember is when i was a little kid my mum used to rub it in our hair because it was dry apparently. Then the next day your hair went all frizzy.

All veg oil is chemically processed, this is coconut oil that is chemically processed. It is safer to cook at high temperatures with than virgin olive oil as it maintains it's stability --- very high smoke point, great for roasting, frying etc. It's the only oil that doesn't use the pancreas to digest, is healthy and neutral so doesnt cause flammation in the body ( such as achy joints ) and ideal for people with gut problems. Because it's MTC make up bypasses the pancreatic system and goes straight to the blood, instead of being stored in the body as fat.
For full benefits from coconut oil a cold pressed ( called virgin ) is ideal, but if cooking at high temperatures --- this is ideal, and still very much healthier than veg oils.

Great warmed up for head massage before washing.
