The point of this site is that people have the choice to vote hot or cold. Who are you to tell people to ignore the deal if they dont like it.
As far as i'm concerned 75p a litre for buying oil in bulk is dear.

COLD.

rubbish quality oil at a high price, COLD COLD COLD

I am after some cooking oil at a good price. Hopfully the last two posters can advise where I can buy cheaper.

What sort of quality can cooking oil be? As far as I know we use various sorts of vegetable oil for cooking, only difference being sunflower, rapeseed whatever. OK, I wouln't want to put it on my salad, but that is a totally different thing:?

cold, cold and cold again this is a poor deal v expensive per litre.

75p is very cheap IMHO and KTC is widely used in the catering industry.

As someone who has more than a passing interest in biodiesel 75p/litre is cheap for SVO...

This is a great offer...! and KTC is good quality!

it's all fine using the right to vote cold, but have the decency to explain WHY, if you can find it cheaper, say so, so thetre rest of us don't over pay.

the idea of the site is to share shoppign knowledge & finds with others, so share you knowledge of why this is 'cold' OP was simply requesting the decency of an explanation why. Personally, I bloody hate finding stuff voted cold with no explanation.

oh, and 'multi quote' appears to be busted.

I would really like to know where to find cooking oil at less than 75p a litre too!:roll:All oil has just been getting more and more expensive

Good price. Hot from me.

Quite happy to explain why I voted cold. Firstly, Tesco had ]20l on offer for £7.50 a week ago. That's a hot deal ... unlucky if you missed out. Secondly, this deal has been posted ]already here.. Sure, it was at a slightly higher price, but it was noted in that thread that the price had been lowered.

I don't know what prices are like for catering, but If you run your car on oil, you can get cheaper WVO which'll do as good a job (a quick ebay search gives 54p a litre for WVO).

I am really cross that I missed the deal where the oil worked out at half this price again. However I can shed some light on the reason that deal was so much better! Simple the Tesco in question has only just opened and has had special promos that you wont find anywhere else. They had "lost leaders" on rice and stuff too as it is in a predominantly Asian area. Fact remains this post is a good deal which will probably now be missed by many through voting cold. Shame:x

None of the Tescos I tried had the 20 litres for £8 deal.

The best readily available price otherwise currently is about £15.50 for 20 litres in Costco.

There is a supplier in Lancashire who is selling two litre bottles currently for about £1.10ish - but thats not really much use if they are 200 miles away.

So this price is best and anyone saying its expensive is talking rubbish unless they can substantiate their claim.

WVO on ebay is not a viable option to run as a fuel - unless you are processing it to make biodiesel. Its easy to claim WVO has been filtered to 5 microns - but a filter sock rated at that size that has been overused could be letting all through - and what sellers claim on ebay and what people get are often pretty far apart. Ebay also lacks the convenience of using a shop. Shops are local - a WVO seller is unlikely to be. Its OK keeping 100 litres of clean VO cubes in your flat - but who would want 100 litres of ebay WVO that might need refiltered?/

This is a new deal - as the previous 10 litre deal for £8 ended on the 24th of january so should have been expired, and besides none of the shops had any left by then.

Which sadly I suspect will be the case with this deal too.

HOT - if available.

All of them?

I presume you own a garage and are looking to get trade from repairing knackered diesel engined cars, the majority of which will not run on vegetable oil.

is it vegetable oil or corn oil

KTC at that price is most likely soya.

Heat added for the KTC deal.......managed to buy 10L in Tesco Slough yesterday.

Ah so you voted cold because it was cheaper last week. Also WVO is cheaper. Next week I am doing an oil change. Would you like my waste oil at only £5 per gallon? That is half the price you can buy the new stuff for.

Voted Cold, oil is made of GM Soya

Voted Cold, oil is made of GM Soya

Is that a reason to vote cold? A lot of stuff not to my personal taste for some reason on here, so I don't bother voting. This may be cheaper because its GM Soya, a good deal for those of us happy to cook our chips in it.

Indeed, that is how this site works ...

When I tried to buy this via 'mysupermarket' it appears on the lists of oils, but it disappears after it asks for my postcode, saying none is available in my area (Glasgow).
