Thank you, just purchased for local charity as they cook for the homeless every day.
.80p/kg in Asda (32p for a 400g tin) for those that do not want 15kg of tin tomatoes

and they are sometimes 4 for a £1 at various supermarkets when on offer.

Sorry, but I don't quite get this post OP.
We still have at least 50 cans of Napolina chopped from the last Amazon pricing error of 69p per case of 12.

OK let's do some maths.

A standard can is 400g so these big boys hold 6.375 cans each.

For £12.24 you're getting 38.25 cans.

This makes them 32p a can, which is a standard price in the supermarket (they are often 4 for a quid too) for a more practical size. Sorry but no heat from me.

Can these be used in a salad instead of a fresh tomato or just a replacement for tomato purée

If you want to open a 2.5kg tin for your salad then you better think twice. There is enough in one can to make at least 10 family sized lasagnas.

I firmly agree with your pricing etc i was just trying to look for something a little different (I know it wont suit alot of ppl)
Was not trying to encourage bulk buying etc just thought a small minority might use alot of tomatoes and comparing prices it seemed the cheapest

No, it's not salad tamatoes. Main use of this might be pasta/pizza sauce or gravy for curries.

This one can is very big, only buy if you are having to use it in one go or it can be freeze for a future use.
4 for £1 in Morrisons currently for the 400 g
As many have said......not sure how this is a deal, seems like the standard price per 400g unless you want to buy catering sizes.
