An android tablet from just £29.99 though the deal is the 10" one in my opinion for just £10 more. It can also be "rooted" so you could get it to stock Android.

The memory can be upgraded to 36Gb (its only 4Gb) and it has HDMI output. The 7" one has a drop safe bumper.

Seems good. Are you able to tell me how to get it 'rooted' also is it a standard sd micro disk I buy to upgrade memory. Thanks, I've ordered one for my kid

Btw I voted hot n it went cold

these are awful. painfully slow to do anything on it.

got one for daughter Xmas present

wouldn't recommend however cheap

Both my 3 and 5 year olds have these. We have play store on them. Not really for children over 5-6 as they are slow but for £29.99 you can't go wrong.

Whilst I don't currently own one, I just googled "Kurio tablet hack" and there were quite a few links. The first link xda-developers forum was quite extensive. Rooting my HP Touchpad with WebOS was great but you may not feel you have to with this

I guess from the limited information it must be single core so don't waste your money it, it will be painfully slow by today's standards.

Don't do it,not even if they were a tenner, these are so bad!

Yes, single core

7in, 800x480 capacitive multitouch display Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich)
4GB storage + Micro SD (Up to 32GB)
802.11b/g/n
1.2GHz single-core processor
1GB RAM
2Mp rear facing camera,0.3Mp front-facing camera
1080p video playback
Mini USB, Mini HDMI

I just thought £29 for a tablet was pretty good (and £39 for a 10" was excellent)

i bought the kurio 7S from a deal on here a few weeks back... now, i don't know how much of a difference there is between mine and this one but, if it's a 7S, get one... you won't regret it, nevermind what the boy racers bang on about. for a child's device, my 7S is excellent... over 60 games already loaded, including educational copy writing, numbers and spelling, as well as the angry birds in space, etc. it also has reading books with options to read yourself, follow the story with highlighting progress or audio storybook modes... it's a media player, front and back camera and video recorder and there's brilliant facilities for parental control of times it will work, wifi access,
etc. all with passwords and security to stay in control and limit their internet page access.

for a child up to 7 or 8, this is damned fine and don't listen to the egits who bang on cores and hang time. unless your child is timmy berners-lee this is plenty good... damned good bumper on it too.

if it's only a kurio 7 then you'll have to check the difference for yourself.

don't bother checking the difference, this has one core and will be slow - I have owned a few single core tablets. All very well you telling people to ignore others talking about the number of cores when your 7S has twice as many. There is a reason these have been dumped via Groupon.

Paid around £200 for the 10" from JL when they first came out within 6 months it had become so slow it was becoming unusable it was sent back for a replacement, again with 6 months the replacement kept freezing it then sat unused for a further couple of months, thank god we purchased it from John Lewis as in spite of the fact it was well over 12 months old I called John Lewis and it was collected within 48 hours and a refund for the full amount issued with a week!

We have sinced purchased a Barns & Noble NOOK HD+ £60 (Graded) and apart from the lack of camera has done everything we ask of it without issue, in fact we now how three of them and they have all been working for well for over a year!

I've just returned this as it is just too slow. Without downloading any additional apps there was still apps not responding. And with my kids using my iPad it just wasn't going to cut it. The idea is great n apps pre loaded were enjoyable for them. If only there was something like this that controlled YouTube n google searches so well without compromising on speed. Definitely willing to pay more for quality

Thanks op tho

I bought 2 of these from group on for my twin girls birthday and had to return both as one wouldn't get past the setup and the other wouldn't install updateds when set up, when I rang groupon they said they had received a lot of calls regarding this product so I would avoid. Now I'm struggling to find something similar around the same price as my girls will only be 3 so don't want to spend a lot.
