Many years back, I once suggested this to a work colleague as a hair styling product and told him that as it's expensive, you have to ask the pharmacist for it. I wrote it on a piece of paper so he wouldn't forget. Yup he did......he gave me a load of fruitful words but we were too busy splitting sides with laughter to take note or care......

There's a brand called KC jelly that they sell and it's much cheaper

There's an apocryphal industry story that I once heard at Castrol, that KY Jelly had it's genesis in some 1950s market research carried out by the makers of Brycreem. They discovered that their product was being used for things other than slicking back your hair & subsequently created KYJ to fill the gap in the market (no pun intended!). (edited)
