i dont know how ARCO work but i assume as it would be a private sale and not provided by an employer you would claim the VAT back yourself in your tax return. :-/

There is no VAT on safety footware!

Not sure if you can reclaim VAT unless you're VAT registered? If so then that would make sense as employers supplying PPE pay VAT and reclaim. So in theory, as HSE rules state that employees must be supplied PPE by an employer if required for the job, the only people actually buying PPE for 'industrial' use would be employers or the self employed. Oh and me as my employer is pants and can't seem to get me boots that fit X)

Alternatively, the website might just be crap and not have the functionality to zero rate

I am employed by a company and claim back vat and mileage every year, I think it's p87? You can do your own tax return if you chose to and claim back for expenses not covered by your employer

no vat on safety boots
cannot charge so don't have to claim back simple as that

Hi

In regards to your email below footwear is only VAT exempt if it is for a personal sale.
If you are using a company account details online then it will still be subject to VAT - from arco
