Amid the post-war boom of Hollywood's Golden Age, Cole Phelps, an LAPD detective is thrown headfirst into a city drowning in its own success. Corruption is rampant, the drug trade is exploding, and murder rates are at an all-time high. In his fight to climb the ranks and do what's right, Phelps must unravel the truth behind a string of arson attacks, racketeering conspiracies and brutal murders, battling the L.A. underworld and even members of his own department to uncover a secret that could shake the city to its rotten core.

Utilizing revolutionary facial animation technology that captures every nuance of an actor's facial performance in astonishing detail, L.A. Noire blends the breathtaking action with true detective work for an unprecedented interactive experience. Solve brutal crimes, plots and conspiracies inspired by real crimes from 1947 Los Angeles, one of the most corrupt and violent times inL.A. history. Search for clues, chase down suspects and interrogate witnesses as you struggle to find the truth in a city where everyone has something to hide.

Is this the same LA Noire that was priced £10 more than the other consoles when new because of the "added cost of manufacturing the proprietary Switch game cards"? And yet it can now be sold for £20 while still making (presumably) a profit. Yeah, right. OK.
Is this a good game?

For all we know this could be being sold at cost price or below because of poor sales.

You're sort of missing the point. Back when it was upwards of £40, the reason given for the £10 extra on top of the XOne/PS4 versions, was the extra cost of the cart. Now I've no doubt a cart does cost more than a Blu-ray disc, but even if this is being sold at cost now, it means they could have sold it at the same price as XOne/PS4 initial release. Think that was somewhere around £35? Instead of the £45? the Switch version came out at (my prices are estimates - but the point is the same).

Just wish they'd come out with the real reason, which is the Switch is new and the latest thing, so they can get away with charging extra. Basic supply and demand, etc. Just stop with the "oh, it's got to be £45/£50 because the carts are so expensive". Utter tosh!

It’s a good game apparently, But what put me off was that even the physical version needs a 14Gb download to work!

Yes, I understood that. Smyths selling copies for £20 doesn't prove or disprove that.

It doesn't seem like an unreasonable claim, carts are far more expensive than discs, which is why Sony when with discs for the PSX
