Corruption is rampant, the drug trade is exploding, and murder rates are at an all-time high. In his fight to climb the ranks and do what's right, Phelps must unravel the truth behind a string of arson attacks, racketeering conspiracies and brutal murders, battling the L.A. underworld and even members of his own department to uncover a secret that could shake the city to its rotten core.

Disgusting price for an otherwise amazing game
Couldn't stand this game. It sounded amazing on paper, but basically came down to the thing every case. Who fidgets the most. Add to that the driving and shooting was pants.

It's a re-release for console with updated textures and graphics. It releases 14th November.

LA Noire for consoles: 14th Nov

From the Rockstar press release:

"Today, we're proud to announce new versions of the blockbuster detective thriller L.A. Noire are scheduled to release on November 14, 2017 for Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.

Alongside these three new console versions, we're taking our first steps into virtual reality with L.A. Noire: The VR Case Files, featuring seven select cases from the original game rebuilt specifically for a virtual reality experience on the HTC VIVE.

Set against the seedy and violent underbelly of 1940’s Los Angeles, L.A. Noire is the story of decorated veteran and newly minted detective Cole Phelps as he investigates an escalating series of cases inspired by real-world crimes. Each successfully solved case brings Phelps greater success, but also brings him closer to the dark criminal heart of post-war L.A.

L.A. Noire: The VR Case Files for HTC Vive delivers seven of the original engrossing, self-contained cases from L.A. Noire rebuilt specifically for virtual reality, blending breathtaking action with true detective work to deliver an unprecedented interactive experience.

L.A. Noire for the Nintendo Switch features the complete original game and all additional downloadable content, with specific enhancements including a Joy-Con mode with gyroscopic, gesture-based controls, HD rumble and new wide and over-the-shoulder camera angles, plus contextual touch screen controls for portable detective work.

L.A. Noire for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One delivers the complete original game and all additional downloadable content with a range of technical enhancements for greater visual fidelity and authenticity, including enhanced lighting and clouds, new cinematic camera angles, high resolution textures and more. Plays natively in 1080p for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One consoles, and stunning 4K for PlayStation 4 Pro and Xbox One X, these versions capture the grit and grime of the City of Angels like never before.

For more information, visit the updated website at rockstargames.com/lan…ire and keep an eye out for more from L.A. Noire: The VR Case Files and L.A. Noire for the Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One both there and at the Newswire in the weeks ahead."

Disgusting price for an otherwise amazing game

Really? Why?
I thought it was a decent price, just trade it in after getting platinum. There's zero replayability anyway.
I was expecting £49.99 from Game lol I guess there's time for that yet
This game was a let down for me.
Brilliant game loves trying to solve the cases probably why I loved the recent Sherlock Holmes games
:-O
I loved this game but hated the end third. I won't say why.

I did manage to get all the achievements though but the vehicle one nearly, scuse the pun, drove me insane.
Really disappointed that the VR version isn't also coming to PS4

Game want £44.99 for the Switch version! They're absolute rip-off merchants! This game is just over 6 years old and AFAIK the Switch version is exactly the same as the PS3/X360 versions so it's massively overpriced

Bloody hell, that's a disgusting price right there. I think from what I read on switch they have added touchscreen and joycon functionality, not sure about anything graphics wise though.
£34.99 for the PS4/XB1 version at Game, I may have to pre order from Shopto unless another pops up at a better price the next few days

Great game but 0 replay value and bringing it out this late even with the dlc is just not worth it at least gta v only came out 1 year later I believe on Xbox and ps4.

Not to rain on your parade or anything but the Xbox one and PS4 weren't out 1 year after the original LA Noire...
If there are no other improvements this game is going to be janky AF. Will wait to get this on sale...Rockstar have one every week anyway.

I was referring to gta v.....even so that makes la noire an even older game.

Because for years i've been playing what may as well be the remaster on Steam for £5, bought the goty edition for thT price a few years back. Fair enough it's a great game, I enjoyed it alot but £30 for a re-release, to me, is taking the p***
was looking forward to this going BC on the Xbox one but a 4k version in November will be brilliant, i didn't expect this at all.

Maybe cause other Rockstar titles are £10, GTA trilogy can be had for £15 and the graphics are good to play, great game here but terrible price, think this will drop quick, ive still got the original
£30 for a remaster ?
Hello, new way to milk gamers!
Max payne should get this re release treatment. That game was so perfect
How can they justify £30 for basically releasing the PC version on PS4 and Xbox One.
Did they also fix the incredibly broken mishmash of a storyline parading as a plot?

Disgusting price for an otherwise amazing game

I thought it was overrated.
They spent forever making this and it was massively over hyped. It wasn't developed by any of Rockstars main studios which is probably why technically it wasn't great. The developers weren't exactly happy when making it. This game is not worth £30!
Why is the Switch version £10 more! £30 for Switch would be fine but 40 is pushing i

Yep. Had more fun watching The Parliament Channel on Freeview.
Have I been in a mini coma? I don't remember this ever being announced
Think I made 1p by blasting through this in three days when it was first released and trading it straight in. I did enjoy it and then had a blast through the DLC cases at a later date on a JTAG but even after rebuying it when it dropped to a few quid, I never felt motivated enough to play it through a second time.

might be worth grabbing if you've never played it before and have no access to a PS3
or XB360 but personally don't think it had much replay value

Got announced today as far as I know.
PSVR?
Shocking game. Traded it in after owning for a day. Could not stand it. Highly repetitive.
Lets hope that they finish paying any outstanding debts to their staff with any profits.
Again with the moaning straight off a remastered game made in 2010 which was fantastic for its time, and people are blubbing straight out the gate about the driving mechanics and facial expressions before a trailer has even dropped. Despite the blindingly obvious improvements that come with a remaster including the previously mentioned points people are still straight into the whining. If you didn’t like the style, don’t buy it! If you loved the game and are excited by a 4K remaster on the pro, good for you, I am too! £25-£30 for a remaster of this calibre is a billy bargain on pre-order. HEAT
Each to his own! Loved this and hated GTA IV & V

PSVR?

HTC Vive only bud (at least a version for this as well as the standard console versions), bit confusing thought it would 100% be for PSVR!

That's disappointing.
Didn't the original version of this game cause overheating problem with the PS3 and Xbox

Max Payne 3 bombed. I think that's it for Max.

That's disappointing.

Yeah! Guessing it’s for graphics reasons as it’s facial expression based.

Have you considered with a whopper overhaul both in graphics, mechanics and facial expressions by today’s standards won’t hugely increase some of the components that may have initially let the game down because it was an idea ahead of its time in gaming possibilities? We should be surprised they don’t want the full ticket price on day one.
